Being an iPhone owner I have come to learn a whole lot about Apple. It seems to me that Apple and iTunes have more than their fair share of problems, yet the people that own/use these Apple and iTunes products hardly ever bitch.
The roll out of the iPhone 4 G is the FIRST TIME I have ever seen the apple media to bend. Seems the new iPhone 4 G has some probelms with the reception depending on how you hold it. Apples solution? We will send you a bulky case that will improve signal! WTF?
What I hate most about the opressive Apple OS and iTunes is the fact their system is a total pain in the ass to use. Apple also keeps a death grip on iPhone software and I am told the same holds true for their desktops and laptops. Adobe and Flash are a few things you will miss out on if you were an ALL APPLE geek. Security? Well how the hell would anyone know with the limited control they have over their own equipment.
Using iTunes is somewhat of a hassel. Every month or so there is a big update to install, and often times the iTunes program will crash. To me it seems Apple is an arrogant company backed by Media who would make headlines if Apple's CEO Steve Jobs took a shit and molded it into the shape of a phone.
While I do enjoy the large buttons and display on my iPhone 3G, I often times wish I could make it run a Window's OS. In terms of looks I think the 3G's black phone with the chrome ring looks and feels good in the hand. While the iPhone 4G does feel good in the hand, it also knocks out 3 reception bars when holding it. I have been told the new glass used both in front and back on the iPhone 4 is highly scratchable. From what I was told they already had more scratches in the floor models than their 2 year old 3G counterparts. While the 4G is supposed to be less crack prone, the trade off is it's more scratch prone.
There is also some people that think the 4G is deceptive in advertising. Take for example that the AT&T Network is still 3rd Generation, the iPhone 4G would lead you to think it could run at 4th Generation wireless data speeds. Another thing is the new "Face Talk" which allows you to have wireless video calls to other iPhone 4G users, many people do not realize that this feature only works in WIFI areas and does not work outside of WiFi. While this to me is a "Good Thing" since AT&T cant charge you for it, it also incoperates a forward facing camera. I dont know how much I like the idea of a camera on the front of the phone, but I am sure new 4G hackers are loving it!
Then we have the undeniable fact that Steve Job's (Apple's CEO) Looks like an Alien! I am not talking about the kind of illegal alien that crosses the boarders, I am talking about the kind of aliens from outerspace. LOL

Ummm, I think that "borders" is what you're looking for...
Having said that, I'm sure you will be really impressed with the device when someone busy with it's advanced features drives into the side of your car.... fucking up your wifes lovely face and turning your children into vegetables...
hasn't happened yet... but tomorrow is a new day, right?
Of course up there in the back-woods where you live people must not have to worry about such things as traffic. Advanced features consist of a snow shovel and a blanket.
Do they even have cell phone signals up there in the stix? I guess up there things like your wife getting mulled to near death by a bear, or your son's falling in love with another man because of the shortage of women are enough to worry about. You don't need no stinking iPhones! Hell we are lucky your housebroken.
Your such a positive kind of guy Pogo.

It's about time we can start using our iPhones as we please!
New gov't rules allow unapproved iPhone apps
WASHINGTON Owners of the iPhone will be able to break electronic locks on their devices in order to download applications that have not been approved by Apple. The government is making that legal under new rules announced Monday.
The decision to allow the practice commonly known as "jailbreaking" is one of a handful of new exemptions from a federal law that prohibits the circumvention of technical measures that control access to copyrighted works. Every three years, the Library of Congress authorizes such exemptions to ensure that existing law does not prevent non-infringing use of copyrighted material.
Another exemption will allow owners of used cell phones to break access controls on their phones in order to switch wireless carriers.
Why does Apple think they can dictate what the end user of a product does?
Well Nancy Pelosi's husband does own a lot of stock in Apple and I am sure our healthcare reform package that Mrs. Pelosi has rammed down out throats will seem a lot like Apple dictatorship come 2013.
