Obama's nation of Food Stamp dependants!

Check out this article from MSDNC

http://rockcenter.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/11/28/9069519-waiting-for-midnight-hungry-families-on-food-stamps-give-walmart-enormous-spike?threadId=3282634&commentId=60285155#c60285155

We have 300 million people in the USA (not including the illegals) and yet some how almost 40 million of them people are getting food stamps!

Obama is well on his way to creating a nation dependant on government! At what point does assistance turn into dependence? What happens when people stop getting their food stamps? Are we to expect riots?

It's plain to see this big lie being pulled over Americans eyes that the nation is improving will soon be exposed. Record deficits, Record Un-Employment, Record amount of people on food stamps, and yet Democrats want to claim things are getting better!? LOL! I guess if you are one of 40 million people getting free meals without having to work then things are "better". If your part of the other 260 million people who work and pay for your meals you might feel a little "cheated".

Eh... Obama inherited a half trillion dollar stimulus package when he entered office and he WASTED it on stupid ineffective programs and become a leader for the middle east and Africa rather than the nation that elected him president.

No PowerStroker... Everything that is happening now is the result of Obama's mis-management over the past three years. He really could have done something great, but he fucked it all up!

Ever notice how whenever Obama makes a speech the DOW loses about 200-400 points? Before Obama was elected he was a great bullshitter with no skin in the game, but now that he has been made President he is finding it harder and harder to open his mouth without costing him votes. What's worse is the fact that Obama can't even take a position on ANYTHING anymore because he has backed himself into a corner where he puts campaigning ahead of his job.

I am affraid that 40 million people on food stamps is not good enough to buy the 2012 elections, and thus the other 260 million folks will put an end to this joke soon enough.

I'd answer that but the truth is there would be no way for you to tell me what it should be now less the "quantitative easing" that has been propping up the market with tax dollars.

So to answer your question I must ask one first, was there quantitative easing going on before Obama took over?

Not immediately before, but the Federal Reserve has used it historically on special occasions. QE has very little to do with the DJI average anyway.

How would you know PowerStroker? Do you think they make an announcement to roil the markets when they do this stuff?

To be honest it's one of the MAIN reasons I dont play the market! Look at what happend to GM share holders!

Now to answer your question,

The DOW Closed at 8281.22 on Jan. 16, 2008; a Friday. Day Bush left office.

On February 20th 2008, a month later (When Obama was in office), the Dow closed at 7365.67.

http://askville.amazon.com/stock-market-Obama-office/AnswerViewer.do?requestId=40285563

In summery, in case you dont see what I am getting at, I am asking how much has the government propped up the market? You say very little as it pertains to the DOW, I say give me some hard numbers but again, I think most QE is done on the low-low as not to knowingly roil the markets.

But please tell me your side, I havent had a good laugh in days!

The government does a lot to prop up the market. The government is the biggest single buyer of goods and services and accounts for approx 30% of US consumption. Certainly this affects the DJI. What I'm saying is that when the Federal Reserve does a round of quantitative easing, it doesn't affect the DJI so much as it lowers the value of our currency. Furthermore, the Federal Reserve isn't under the control of the government. It was created by congress, but operates completely independantly. The only time the government gets to have any say in how the Federal Reserve is run, is when the president decides whether or not to replace the Chairman at the end of the chairman's term... Which does not match a presidential term's timeframe - usually 2 years off.

It would have to be a constructive conversation to begin with. As it stands, it's really just another lesson in middle school civics for Rex.

What does the current community organizer eh... I mean POTUS do again? It sure as hell feels like I am back in middle school civics class, every time I read about Obama, only it never seems to end and is perpetual.

I think I know what's eating at Obama... "He just don't like white people". LOL

No wonder he has seemed a bit torn as of late!

Here is a graph for you PowerStroker!

Notice how it does not omit statistics prior to 2008 like your previous graphs... You know, the graph that proved getting rid of the Democratic Super Majority caused the economy to turn around.

If Obama is doing such a great job, and private employment is up, then how can there be so many people getting food stamps? Could it be because the Democrats are full of shit?

Nice chart Rex,
I'm wondering if you can name a Republican innitiative that was put forward in the last 10 years to reduce the need for people to use food stamps?

Well PowerStroker.... As you can see from the chart above Food Stamp dependance wasnt a serious problem until AFTER Obama took office!

I am sure when the Republicans take over the White House in 2012 you will see a Republican innitiative to reduce the amount of people needing food stamps, but again, this a problem that has developed under the OBAMA Administration.

So it's proof Obama and his administration are pretty much lying about the REAL state of the economy. Why you ask? To get re-elected of course! He cant exactly use his doom and gloom pitch now that he has no one else to blame but himself.

PowerStroker are you trying to suggest that having lots of people on Food Stamps is "Good" for the economy? That is just laughable and I hope the Democrats come up with something better than that come Nov. 2012!

With regards to your claims that $1.00 spent in food stamp assistance = $1.73 in benefits... Well that's more BS fuzzy Democrat math. To even suggest that $1.00 magically grows to $1.73 when spent thru the food stamp program is absolute BS. If anything the program probably cost us $1.00 to give someone .73 cents. They have a name for that, it's called Bureaucracy.

You really can't trust nothing this administration puts down on paper. The Democrats seem to have a formula for every statistic that suits their agenda. These "formulas" I speak of are currently at work keeping our unemployment rate looking better than it really is.

The ROOT of the problem is lack of business confidence, which can be directly laid upon the current administrations anti-business attitude. Everyone is holding back because they don't trust this Administration.

The Republican initiative to fix this problem is simple.. Make business feel comfortable enough to spend and invest which will in turn create jobs. The current Administration is trying everything to fudge the numbers because they know Business has no confidence in them and thus the Democrats can only throw borrowed money at the problem with the hopes that a majority of the people are dependant on government hand-outs come election time.

I didn't say a dollar spent will return a dollar to the treasury, but it is true that a dollar invested in the food stamp program will generate $1.73 in economic activity and is the single most stimulative economic measure the government has ever done, followed closely by unemployment benefits and infrastructure spending. Furthermore, the chart shows just how un-stimulative tax cuts for the rich are.

$1.00 invested? Are you kidding me!? This money is just being thrown away! The people that take the money are never asked to pay it back, so wake up you daft fool!

As for Stoma... Well he's just pissed he can't get it up. Unlike him I get it up every day sometimes 5 times a day. In addition to that I pay for my food, no food assistance here! If we were to calculate how much money Stoma's momma took on the food program to feed Stoma's dumb ass he would probably owe this nation 10's of thousands of dollars. Stoma's mom tried hook'n for awhile, but that didn't work out because she was a lousy lay. Never mind Stoma himself was meant to be just a blow-job!

So when the government spends money on roads and bombs and stuff, you would also consider that to be throwing money away?

I don't think you understand me PowerStroker! It's not throwing money away to feed the people who are genuinely in a bad spot and are going hungry. In fact giving someone help that REALLY needs it is one of the best ways to spend tax money. When people think of their tax dollars going to feed hungry Americans, or help with medical cost they don't begrudge it. It actually feels good to think about helping, but most know this is NOT the case and the money is wasted or selectively handed out to people who are not deserving.

Unfortunately, given Obama's life of "hand-outs" he is more than happy giving people money that really ought to be making it on their own. Even worse are the people that are gaming the system! These kind of people are tearing at the soft belly of our nation. They have no shame or honor, and really there is no bigger abuser of tax money than a politician! Their lifetime health benefits and their over-inflated paychecks make them "out-of-touch" with the people they are representing in less than a year!

Roads are usually paid for with tax money added to gasoline, and often times cities and states are responsible for their own roads. Since we need roads I don't feel they are a waste, however if it come to feeding someone or putting down a new road I'd rather see someone who NEEDS it get fed.

Bombs? Well I don't particularly think it's the best way to spend money, but it is necessary. As civilized as humans "think" we have become it's still and always will be a jungle out there.

As for Stomette, well I'd prefer we not bring up such sexual topics, but this is a big boys forum, plus it seems to keep the traffic down. Yes I can perform 5 times in a day, even more if I were permitted. Do I get that wonderful snapper five times a day every day? No! Sometimes I might go a whole day without it! Hell if aunt "flo" is in town I might go 4-5 days without! It's hell, but I try to make up for it when aunt "flo" leaves.

Think of food stamps as an investment in the future. Obama's mom used them for a while, and she was then able to raise the man who would become our 44th president!

Amanda Clayton, a 24-year-old mother of two, won a $1 million jackpot last fall, and chose to take the lump sum, which, after taxes, was about $500,000. She bought a new car and a new house. Yet, she's still collecting $200 a month in food stamps. Her excuse? Since the government didn't cut her off she kept taking it. "I feel that it's OK because I have no income, and I have bills to pay. I have two houses," Clayton told WDIV 4 in Detroit. For the time being, her actions apparently aren't illegal. Legislation is pending that would cut off lottery winners from the welfare system.

You see PowerStroker I simply can not fault you for not knowing what the word "Surplus" means because you may have never been witness to such an event. Therefore I pat you on the head while thinking "ignorance really is bliss".

The DNC has you all brainwashed so good you cant even tell who is cheating who.

Pitty.

15% of the nation on food stamps, $16 Trillion in debt, near 9% unemployment and double digits in some hard hit areas, yet Obama want's to say "The private sector is doing fine!" LOL!

I think instead of Obama saying "You didn't build that" he should have said "I fucked it all up and I'm sorry".

I remember the Clinton surplus very well.  I also remember George W Bush cutting taxes on the rich and starting 2 wars without paying for them.  I also remember a Medicare Part "D" which was a sloppy wet kiss to private insurance companies which wasn't paid for either.

There is no such thing as the "Clinton" surplus! More like "Book Cooking" as the correction came quick and hard. Perhaps you never heard about "Whitewater", but if you check out this link you might learn a thing or two about your boy Clinton.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitewater_controversy

I also remember George W Bush cutting taxes on the rich and starting 2 wars without paying for them.

Such a punk... George W Bush ALSO cut taxs for the middle and lower class too idiot! And at least Bush had congressional approvals for his wars and money spent! Hell he had the backing of the whole nation when opperation shock and awe got underway.

I also remember a Medicare Part "D" which was a sloppy wet kiss to private insurance companies which wasn't paid for either.

Yes insurance companies stood to make money as they should have! The real winners here was the Senior citizens who got "GOOD" name brand medications. I know it's the Democrats aim to get them on that generic stuff, but we will soon see in 2012 if the old folks are going to stand for that.

After Biden's and Obama's speeches tonight, I now have no doubt that Romney will be elected.

All of this Dem spin about the Republican convention not offering any solutions, just tearing down Obama. So I listened to EVERY speech this week to hear about the solutions. I was ready to actually sign on if the solutions and plans were compelling and better than Romney's 5-point plan.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Obama's speech was an extended State of the Union speech. Not inspiring, all recycled stuff. Boooooooring !!

Obama just lost himself the election tonight with his lackluster speech.

Can't wait to see the GOP ad campaign kick in starting with the football games this coming week. While Obama's spending his campaign treasury into oblivion, and wasted $400 million on attack ads all spring and summer (which actually cost him approvals, particularly among women), Romney kept his powder dry, knowing that Obama would spend himself out early. Now the wrath of the GOP is going to come down and Romney is going to take a massive dump on Obama's head with his advertising campaign. It's gonna be shock and awe, PowerStroker, so brace yourself and get ready. You're going to see a massive shift in public opinion over the next 60 days...... in Romney's favor (he's already polling a few points ahead, but this will turn it into a landslide on the popular vote and the Electoral College).

Rex, this one's almost in the bag. SO can't wait to make PowerStroker eat poo in November.
