Gerry, the difference is simple. There isn't a giant mob of liberals questioning Romney's citizenship - we're too classy.
Rex, that last one ^^ still gives me the giggles, good job.
Both of you guys... Why aren't you bitching about the fact that George Romney wasn't eligible to run for president when he tried? He actually admitted to being born in Mexico, but ran anyway! Is it because he's a Republican, or because he's white?

I figured everything was cool when Clinton passed NAFTA.

My issues with Obama have nothing to do with his race or where he was born. My issues are with the way he has failed at running this nation and how often he went on vacation. Seeing him do a complete 180 in this election year just assures me that he was fake and that the people that still support him are either complete idiots who hate America or flat out racist.
By the way PowerStroker, don't you still support Obama?

That's the whole point -- Romney's father was honest enough in the first place not to try to hide the facts. So he was DQ'd. That's why we have laws and a Constitution, to detail the boundaries. And in the case of Romney's father, the law worked. In the case of Obama, he was seemingly above the law and nobody in the media (the so-called Fourth Estate) has ever bothered to properly vet him. The likes of Sheriff Joe are doing that, becuase no one else seems to want to be the one who gets muddy.
Obama has never released so much of the documentation about his life - his grades, school transcripts and other stuff like that. Where there's smoke there's fire, so one can only think that the deilberate attempt to cover the tracks is because he's hiding things. The good thing is that it shouldn't matter come November.
Seriously, if you look at the facts, the whole picture of Obama, who he is, what he's done (and what we don't know that he's done because he's kept it behind lock and key) -- he is easily the least qualified president to take office at least in modern times. Even his very short tenure as a US Senator you can easily see that he achieved nothing of note during tha time (other than criticizing George W. Bush and the Iraq/Afghanistan wars, and Bush's defecit spending). No track record of strong leadership either as a US Senator or Illinois lawmaker. Just voting as "present" but no sponsored legislation, co-sponsorship. Just no track record in recent years. His lack of leadership expereince will go down in the history books as a permanent stain on his record. Heck, even Jimmy Carter served honorably in the US Navy (Annapolis grad too!) and was the governor of the state of Georgia.
I know you're a conservative and very much dislike Obama, which is to be expected. Buy you don't honestly buy in to the birther conspiracy do you?
I would expect it from Rex, but you sir, while misguided, are sophisticated enough not to go along with the fringe elements of your party, at least I thought you were.
I hope you both realize the long form certificate was pulled from the archives in Hawaii and certified by a clerk who works there. If you are suggesting that the records clerk in Hawaii is also in on the conspiracy, may I ask for some proof?
I didn't say anything about his birth certificate in my previous post - I was talking about his record as a supposed "leader" (Dems love to hold up the fact that he was an Illinois lawmaker and a short-time US senator as evidence of his strong leadership abilities) as well as his lack of supporting life documents like university transcripts, grades, etc. Do you see anything in my previous post about Obama's birth certificate? Oh, I did mention about Sheriff Joe investigating Obama because nobody else will, but that's more broad-based than just his birth certificate. I think Joe's investigation has to do with his Selective Service registration and other un-named documents.
My original post was merely about Romney being PROACTIVE in providing his birth certificate - not as a belated reaction to the accusations of Donald Trump. Obama looked very weak and reactive when he finally did supply his green printed certificate. Kind of like he did after Biden opened his yap prematurely with regard to the administration's position in gay marriage.
I do agree that he is careful now days as not to step on his own dick should Obama lose come November. I think the facts are weighing heavy with him as he desperately hopes Obama is able to pull a rabbit from the hat, but we both know that just isnt going to happen.
Your first sentence above is pretty much bang-on with regard to what I was trying to say. Thanks for clarifying.
However, you may be giving PS more credit than he deserves for having a peen long enough to step on, eh?

I have known PowerStroker to be a lot of things... But Humble has never been one of them things.

Obama does not have the "unknown" going for him in this election. When he ran the first time many people bought into his BS, where as now he has a hard time sealing the past 3 years like he has the rest of his records prior to that. That simple fact is really making it hard for Obama, especially since he would look like a total fool if he tried to play the race card after his victory last time. Obama pretty much maxed out and closed the race card in his last election. America is not a racist nation, and when it comes to giving people a chance thats something we Americans are more than willing to do. But we have out limits and Obamas endless vacations in the first two years of his term made a lot of people angry given the fact he used to campaign with his sleeves rolled up like he was going to bust ass.

I do have to say that I watched the speech Obama gave with Bush in the White House. It was the first time I'd ever seen Obama actually express niceties toward anything Republican, not to mention his predecessor. The guy actually came off as likeable.
It just goes to show that Obama can be nice when he wants/has to be. I think this is how he snookered so many people in 2008 (in addition to playing the race/shame card, and his other tactics). By now he's realized that his days are numbered, so he's starting to worry about his legacy and place in history. I think over time that Bush's star will rise, but Obama's will sink to about the level as Carter's has done.
However, you may be giving PS more credit than he deserves for having a peen long enough to step on, eh?
Well... We are talking about a guy who said, and I quote -
"I have what's called "job power," My boss could be sitting in his office eating breakfast. I could barge right in, hop up on is desk, whip out my junk, pee in his Cheerios, and have him beg me to come back and do it again tomorrow" ~ PowerStroker
LOL ! I remember that quote! It's an all-time classic. If it would have been RSJ who said that, I'd hire a detective to find out who his boss was, and send it to him/her.
That level of braggadocio is indeed approaching that of Mike "Fat Bastard" McLiar though.
