That's right folks... I said it, and you heard it here first!
What's worse? I spent 8 hours in line at the Canton Michigan AT&T store on Ford Road and was the 1st in line only to be turned away by the police! I went to another AT&T store in another town that opened up at 10 and also was the first in line there only to be told there was no iPhone 7+ in stock! The media is saying "sold out", but truth be known Apple simply does not have any stock of these phones! You can't say an item "sold-out" on opening day when the 1st person in line is turned away due to lack of stock! Please tell me, in what world does it make sense to totally blow the opening day and piss off your most loyal fans who would wait in 8 hour lines!? What is wrong with this company that they would continue to hang on to a failure like Tim Cook!? I want to buy more Apple products, honestly! I don't feel the problems with Apple are with the hardware, I feel the problems are with the CEO Tim Cook! Any CEO that thinks it's a good idea to blow opening day isn't doing the company or it's customers any favors.
So here is the sign that was on the window at the AT&T store when I arrived on Thursday September 15th @ 11:00PM.
Storefront.
Let's take a closer look at this sign... Does it say "No iPhone 7+ in stock"? No! It says to form a line! Now in what world would a company make a customer wait all night in line for a product that it KNEW it didn't have in stock? In years past people were forming lines about 11pm the night before opening morning, and there has always been at least "some" stock for walk ins, as most fans want the item the moment it releases and the only way that is possible is going to the store, right? Not the case anymore! They might as well not even advertise an opening day anymore!
Look at the parking lot! Empty except for my car right? It gets better! Not only did AT&T not have any stock of the iPhone 7+, but they decided to have cracks repaired in the parking lot the morning of launch day, so around 6am some construction folks turned up asking me to move. LOL! Naturally, after having spent 8 hours waiting in line I thought it must be some kind of scam to steal my spot, so I tell the guys to go get someone from AT&T to validate their story and hold my spot and then I would gladly move my legally parked vehicle. Well this ended up with the cops being called.
Upon the police arriving, whom might I add were very professional and were actually just across the street keeping on eye on me, the AT&T representative finally showed up and told the officer that there was no iPhone 7+ stock! This was at 6:30am! An hour and a half before the store opened! So they knew all along they had no stock, but failed to post any such notice! Why? Because doing so would prove the phone didn't "sell out", rather it was "not in stock". Anyway, after moving my car to the other side of the parking lot the officer grabbed my folding chair and told me there was no point in waiting because there was no 7+ iPhones in stock. He also got me the business card for the AT&T manager who refused to give it to me earlier. I took his suggestion and got out of there before I come un-glued however I was so pissed and cold that I was literally shaking. I was so angry that I had wasted 8 hours I was literally seeing red!
After pulling myself together I found another AT&T store that opened up at 10am and was actually just down the street. Upon pulling into this location at 9:30am (half hour before they open), this is what I see.
Looks pretty dead for opening day huh? Again, I was the 1st in line and upon entering the store I was told there was no iPhone 7+ in stock! No such incidents like before at this location, but the entire ordeal has made me really think about what happened. Sure, it's humiliating and I feel like a fool... I waited in line for 8 hours for absolutely nothing, all because this was the protocol in every other subsequent launch prior to the iPhone 7+. It literally took me until Monday to cool down and here it is Tuesday and I'm still quite upset!
Sure, AT&T has a part in this... But the "real" issue is with Apples Tim Cook, a CEO that in many ways looks as much of a crook and fraud as his company outwardly displays when they make claims like "Opening day" or "Sold-out". If Apple is going to forgo the big welcome of each new iPhone every September that's fine! Just don't decide to do it quietly where you still try and capitalize on the publicity that loyal fans display when they wait in line for 8 hours, cash in hand, waiting for that "Opening day". It's a fraud, and one the media and any one of the carriers of these Apple phones are sold at. They are ALL in on it.
I still have 4 iPhones in the family fleet, and the hardware for the most part is better than average. This can be credited to the designers and engineers who made these phones... But the business end of distribution and customer satisfaction falls squarely on the shoulders of CEO Tim Cook! For this reason, and many other priors, it's quite clear! Tim Cook needs to be fired! He is not a business man, nor is he any kind of asset to Apple or it's customers and shareholders. His only claim to fame is the fact Steve Jobs picked him, probably because Cook was a good yes man to Jobs. Whatever the reason, it's clear Cook is in no way qualified to run Apple! Even the launches of the new iPhones in September have turned into more or less a bore... Cook seems like a broken record, and everyone seems less than enthusiastic. It's one thing to say that with each release of a new iPhone it's naturally expected to be the "best" Apple has ever offered, but what about things like management? What about things like having at least 1 of these phones available on launch date?
So Apple wants to play many angles here, which is where I feel the fraud comes in. 1st it wants to say that it's phones have "Sold-Out", like there was a mad rush to buy them when nothing could be further from the truth. Apple did not sell out their stock, they simply were unprepared and didn't have any stock! They should have made the release date for the iPhone 7+ November 16th 2016 rather than lying to people and telling them it was September 16th!
Then we have the question of WHY Apple is trying to move to a pre-order system rather than stocking it's distributors for opening day. The answer is quite clear, they can get paid for the item then whenever they happen to have enough stock they can send them out. What does this mean for the future of buying Apple iPhones on release date? It just means that Apple will pick and choose who gets the phones, overinflating their value by purposely creating a false sense of popularity. Are we to really believe that a company like Apple who has been releasing iPhone for nearly 9 years now, didn't know what to expect for the release of the iPhone 7+? That is highly doubtful but then again we are talking about Tim Cook here.
For me, I have been trying to rotate out a bent iPhone 6 for several months now, and I been putting it off for the release of the iPhone 7+ for obvious reasons. I think Apple really needs to let Tim Cook go, and the media needs to start doing their job and reporting what has happened for what it really is... A fraudulent perception of demand, artificially created by a company on purpose to those ends! If I didn't really need to rotate out an old iPhone 6, I might not have even bothered to wait in line, although I must admit that with each release of a new number iPhone (ie 3-4-5-6 and now 7) it's been a fun tradition to wait in line, and buy a new iPhone. Some years you get there early and get a good spot, others you're farther behind, but always was there at least enough stock for the most die hard fans to buy one on opening day.
This whole move to pre-order is nothing but an effort to create this false frenzy. What company would forgo the FREE advertising every year of loyal customers lining up to buy the next version of their favorite phone!? That is why I am saying, Tim Cook needs to go!

Now that's a pain in the ass good & proper SELLC...(Even Stoma couldn't contrive a shit deal that stunk that bad)...
And you're absolutely correct about Apple inflating their prices, popularity, & picking & choosing who gets what.
I do hope you have some rubber left on the Corvette...It looked really cool in those photo's ! Maybe a nip or two of Johnny Walker Blue is due, just to help calm the nerves & laugh-it-off.
Cheers,
Rastus

Stoma is not banned... I don't know, nor do I care where he or she is at. Don't put Stoma's lack of participation on us!
Anyway, so I bumped this thread because I tried to order a new keyboard, track pad (sort of like a mouse), 3.5mm stereo jack plug (because Apple took the 3.5mm jacks out of their phones), and an Apple TV and remote...
They screwed the entire order up... not shocked.
Also having problems with my account information and Apple seems for the most part clueless... except I think what they do is on purpose.
Really Tim Cook should have been fired long ago, Apple is going down the tubes! I haven't upgraded my phone since the iPhone X and to be honest I have no plans on upgrading or buying any more Apple stuff if I can help it!
Not only are their products overpriced, the service there SUCKS!

So today was the new event for Apple called "Peak Performance"...
And yet I sit here, since Thursday Morning the 3rd of March waiting for an order that was to be delivered by courier the SAME DAY.
I won't get into the absolute WASTE of time it's been trying to get Apple to correct the issue, but currently I am having to wait for these items to arrive to return them! I could easily just visit the store and pick them up, however paying twice for something is just not my style and the fact remains these little cocksuckers, along with their new pals at Goldman Sachs have even sold me on an Apple card that in all honesty is FAR WORSE than the Barclays Apple Rewards card that is now called the View card because Apple cannot maintain a relationship with any bank or card issuing company for very long... I still have my old Barclays Apple Rewards card, an although it's been re-branded as a "View" card, it still has a much higher limit than the pathetic offering from Goldman Sachs.
I have tried to get both Apple and Goldman Sachs to remedy the situation, but honestly anyone shopping at Apple should beware of the Goldmach Sachs bait and switch game they play... They will promise your order to be delivered the SAME DAY by way of courier service, which is $9 extra, about the same amount I would spend in gas to visit the local Apple store here in Novi at the 12 oaks mall... Once you place the order you'll notice that only one of your items will deliver the same day, usually the most espensive one. And while all the smaller accessories will be advertised as "In-Stock" at the same location, for whatever reason Apple will chump the store and try sending them direct from Apple in California! This leaves you with an incomplete order, and items in transit that you cannot cancel until they arrive and you send them back!
Now I will admit, I'm still backed up from COVID... I'm behind too! But I'm no APPLE INC!
So I watched the "Peak Performance" video today thinking to myself... "What a bunch of fucking clowns!"
I have no desire to buy anything new from Apple right now... Even though I NEED a new keyboard and mouse (trac pad), I'm just so angry with the way they treated me on the phone and their underhanded tactics to set me up a new line of credit that I'm totally not interested in their new Fat Mac Mini they call the "Studio" or their new M1 Ultra processor! I can only imagine what a let down that $4000 unit and it's $1600 monitor would be!
And even with their new iPhone updates that puts the address bar at the bottom of the screen now, that requires many gestures to even get to, it's just proof that Apple is failing!
Apple pulling their products in Russia made me happy at first, but then I realized what they are doing to Russians is exactly what they are doing to customers like me! Apple is discriminating against customers by way of poor service, anyone who would question their performance! As someone waiting since March 3rd for a same day delivery, I can tell you it's not a question if Apple has performance issues - it's a fact! When a company like Apple cannot rectify an order where all the items are in stock locally, and not even new releases, it becomes a question of why? The answer is quite simple, it's not that they can't... It's that they just don't want to... and that's just sad.
I think Apple has wasted enough of my time... and their inability to maintain their finance relationships with creditors just proves that it's not me... It's APPLE!
So let's all raise our cups to Tim Cook, the most rich and clueless CEO to ever haunt Apple! Thanks for nothing buddy! Take a bow!

I should also mention that I left AT&T shortly after this thread was made... I'm now with Verizon.
I'm also sending back all my items purchased using the Goldman Sachs card and I will re-buy them with my AMEX card... if they play this game again, I'll do the same thing! Only this time AMEX won't make me wait for a credit for items not delivered! I can go to Best Buy and get this stuff too!
Rediculouls that Apple and Goldman Sachs have wasted so much of my time! Even worse they don't even care!
I don't think the people of Russia are missing much with the Apple pull out... Keep your old units! The new stuff isn't much better and the service is horrible!
Save your time, and help a local outlet by buying your Apple stuff local! Even if they promise you same day, it's a lie... Everything out of their mouth is a lie!

I dunno... maybe it was a bit much with the Russia comparison... but you'd think someone like me with a solid history of buying and using their products I'd be treated a lot better!

Fuck it... Don't want people around here thinking I'm getting spoiled!
Okay... I'll admit it... I just ordered a new office chair because the woman put it to me last night and broke my gimp ass hand-me-down chair from the kid...
I had no choice, the back fell off! LOL

Best price in town too... about $50 less than anyone else.
LOL !
Don't worry SELLC, anything to do with so-called "modern technology" will need replacing in a few years time, rather than 20-years time...
I myself think that I have a Wi-Fi device issue, where the internet is cutting itself off, & I can't get back on-line...So should I be absent for a few days, I'm out getting a new device / modem.
