There were some other good fast draws but they were too long. Some say that in performances they will use what is almost like a buck shot, or plastic bullets that break apart and give a wider pattern. That is what the video is below it.
I don't know if that is what Munden is using in his shows, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to have to face that guy at high noon to find out!
Didn't know about the frangible bullets for balloons but makes sense. They also used to size/prime a casing and stick it neck down in softened paraffin. Does wax up the bore but not hard to clean.
No, I have never fired one myself... But I think the reason the bullet didn't go farther is it hit a curved part of the block that appears to have sent the bullet up into the aluminum head. Obviously the direction change took out a lot of the energy.
Still surprised. Now a phalanx bullet (heavy metal) would not have stopped. Buddy had a bolt action 50bmg. Made by Hans of State Arms. Last he did before he was gone. MFG date was 4 July, laminated red white blue stock.
That .50 video was funny as hell. I loved the drone footage.
i used to own a Barrett M82 in the early 90s , it was a hoot! Epen$ive as all get out to shoot, but always left a big grin on my face. I used to charge $5 a shot for anyone at the public range to try it. One day, this rich fucker offered me almost twice what I paid for it, went to my local dealer and transferred it the same day. I miss that thing.
