Trump for Nobel

EXCLUSIVE A group of 18 Republican lawmakers have signed their names to a letter formally nominating President Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize -- the latest development in a growing push to award the president the honor for his work toward peace in the Korean Peninsula.

The letter, sent by Rep. Luke Messer, R-Ind. to the Norwegian Nobel Committee on Tuesday, and signed by 17 other members, says Trump has worked tirelessly to apply maximum pressure to North Korea to end its illicit weapons programs and bring peace to the region.
His Administration successfully united the international community, including China, to impose one of the most successful international sanctions regimes in history, the letter says. The sanctions have decimated the North Korean economy and have been largely credited for bringing North Korea to the negotiating table.
The letter is signed by 17 other members, including Reps Mark Meadows, R-N.C., Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., Diane Black, R-Tenn., and Steve King, R-Iowa.

Although North Korea has evaded demands from the international community to cease its aggression for decades, President Trumps peace through strength policies are working and bringing peace to the Korean peninsula, the letter says. We can think of no one more deserving of the Committees recognition in 2019 than President Trump for his tireless work to bring peace to our world.

North Korea reportedly hands Trump another big win by releasing US prisoners

  • North Korea has released three US citizens detained in the country for years, according to several news reports.
  • The three US citizens Kim Dong-chul, Kim Sang-duk, and Kim Hak-song were released from a labor camp and given health treatment and ideological education in Pyongyang, the Financial Times reported, citing a South Korean activist.
  • President Donald Trump's hawkish national security adviser, John Bolton, had called for their release as a way for North Korea to demonstrate its sincerity ahead of a planned summit with the US later this year.

North Korea has released three US citizens who were detained in the country for years, according to several media reports.

The releases meet some of President Donald Trump demands for Pyongyang to demonstrate sincerity before a historic meeting later this year between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The three citizens Kim Dong-chul, Kim Sang-duk, and Kim Hak-song have been released from a labor camp and given health treatment and ideological education in Pyongyang, the Financial Times reported, citing a South Korean activist who campaigns for the release of people detained in North Korea.

"We heard it through our sources in North Korea late last month," the activist, Choi Sung-ryong, told the news outlet. "We believe that Mr. Trump can take them back on the day of the US-North Korea summit or he can send an envoy to take them back to the US before the summit."

Trump's hawkish national security adviser, John Bolton, has recently called for the release of the American detainees.

The Financial Times report said Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke with Kim about the detainees during the pair's secretive meeting last month.

In June, Otto Warmbier, an American university student detained in North Korea, died days after being returned to his family in the US while in a coma.

The South Korean newspaper Dong-a Ilbo said the three US citizens might be being coached to say that human-rights abuses did not occur while they were in North Korean custody.

North Korea operates several prison camps that have been compared to Auschwitz, the former Nazi concentration camp in Poland.

If North Korea has indeed released the three Americans and is preparing to give them to the US, it would represent the latest concession Pyongyang has agreed to make ahead of a summit with Trump.

North Korea has signaled that it is committed to denuclearization and said it would freeze its nuclear and missile tests, though it has dropped a demand for the withdrawal of US forces from the Korean Peninsula and avoided calling for an end to the US's annual military exercises with South Korea as a condition for giving up its nuclear program.

They gave Obama the peace price before he even did anything!

Yet no Nobel prize for Trump!?

I think it's safe to say the euro-trash who gives out these awards are complete idiots... The Nobel peace price means NOTHING every since the empty suit was given the prize before he did anything.

The Nobel peace prize is basically an affirmative action award and the fact Trump has not been awarded the prize proves it..

Funny how they gave it to a guy for what they THOUGHT he would accomplish, yet they have to be petitioned to give it to a guy who actually HAS accomplished more in a little more than a year than the first guy ever did in eight years.
