While it is not music it is great. Sgt Plumly (Sam Eliot scenes) Be sure to see around 40 sec mark when Mel is talking about Native Americans and granfather. "any of you call me granpa, I'll kill ya"
R Lee Emery (rip) Opening scene. Gunny was supposed to be an adviser but asked to audition for the drill Sgt. He was so good they let him improvise the entire movie. Loved that guy.
Not a song from a movie, at least not that I'm aware of, but this is from the lady who was known throughout Europe during WWII as "The Forces' Sweetheart".
Dame Vera Lynn is a British singer who toured extensively during the war, especially in Burma, India, and Egypt, performing outdoor concerts for the troops as part of ENSA (the Entertainments National Services Association, not unlike our American USO), and also performed on radio shows, sending messages to the brave men fighting the war. Amassing an enormous catalog of traditional pop songs over her career, she is still highly regarded by members of WWII service to this day. She has countless honors for her charity work for service officers and others.
As of March 20 of this year, 2018, Vera Lynn turned 101 years old...and is still singing!
Here is her huge hit from 1952, from my own 78 rpm record. The backing vocals are soldiers and airmen of Her Majesty's Forces, and the Johnny Johnston Singers.

Yes FMJ was/is awesome! We were soldiers once too. Thin Red line is good, got about everyone in hollywood in it. The Hanks one is darn bloody. The tank one with Shia and what's his name is pretty good. I have maybe 25-50 dvd war movies, even more westerns. Good collection. Watched Second hand Lions the other night, not a war movie but awesome.

I almost bought a 2013 Cadillac Escalade late last year... When I say "almost", I mean the financing was already approved for a set amount and I couldn't get the deal I wanted so I walked.
They still send me request asking to activate and subscribe to SiriusXM with that 2013 Cadillac's VIN #! LOL!
I'm like, did another me buy that car? I chuckle every time I get one and I say out loud, oh look guys - the Sirius XM is about to expire on our 2013 Cadillac Escalade... To which the family is like
