So I started my morning like any other morning today... Got up and did a quick look at local, nationwide and global news thru my usual sources - Fox, MSNBC, CNN, Facebook, Autotrend.us (here) and then of course I always do a quick check on Twitter. Well as some may or may not know, I was following some Liberals - if for no other reason than morbid curiosity and or the fact they have incredible influence.
Sure enough, the political football was being carried by Obama, Clinton, Gates and even Cook! What was the football? Nelson Mandela! Now here is a guy that set his country back many decades and was considered at times treasonous. Yet Obama was just in Africa visiting his hometown. All this support for Mandela from ALL the liberals that I follow, even GOOGLE is celebrating Nelson Mandela, honoring him with a special Google home page in his honor! Not even Apple sunk to this level this year! But they did dedicate the Apple homepage to Mandela when he died.
But leave it to Google, the same people who skipped over Jesus Christ the past 18 years with absolutely no mention of Easter or any special home page designation!
even GOOGLE is celebrating Nelson Mandela, honoring him with a special Google home page in his honor!
I stand corrected about Google and Nelson Mandela, its actually Kurt Masur they are paying homage to on their homepage today, not Nelson Mandela... but there is striking similarities to where one might be confused unless they actually clicked on it.

Mandela, Nelson Rolihlahla, South African statesman, who for more than 25 years was the world's most famous political prisoner and then became the first black president of the Republic of South Africa (1994-1999). Mandela was born in Umtata, Transkei; his father was the main councillor to the paramount chief of the Thembu and Mandela was groomed to be a chief. He attended Fort Hare College where he first became involved in politics and met Oliver Tambo, who became a lifelong friend: both took part in a student strike in 1940 leading to their expulsion. Mandela left the Transkeiin part to avoid a tribal marriageand became a mine policeman at Johannesburg. He met Walter Sisulu, who helped him obtain articles in a legal firm. In 1944 he became a founder member, with Sisulu, Tambo, and Anton Lembede, of the African National Congress (ANC) Youth League; he became its national secretary in 1948.
Although he initially opposed working with other racial groups, Mandela changed his mind in 1952 during the course of the Defiance Campaign. Subsequently, he advocated united (racial) action against the governments apartheid policies. By this time he was national president of the Youth League and, with Tambo, had founded the first black law practice in South Africa. In December 1952 he was arrested under the Suppression of Communism Act but his nine-month sentence was suspended. More important, he was served with a banning order that prevented him attending meetings or leaving Johannesburg districtthis was to be repeatedly renewed over the next nine years. Despite the banning order he continued to work with the ANC leaders and organizers, and was responsible for the M Plan under which ANC branches were divided into separate cells ready to work in secret. In December 1956 he was among 156 people charged with treason; the subsequent trial lasted until 1961 when they were all acquitted. He married Nkosikazi Nomzamo Madikizela, better known as Winnie Mandela, in 1958.
Following the Sharpeville Massacre (1960) when 67 blacks were killed by South African security forces during a demonstration against apartheid laws, the ANC and the Pan-African Congress were banned. In March 1961, to evade arrest and further banning, Mandela went underground, and then, with Sisulu, travelled secretly round the country organizing a three-day strike. He was nicknamed the Black Pimpernel. In June 1961 the ANC leadership decided to launch an armed struggle and formed Umkhonto we Sizwe (Spear of the Nation) as its armed wing, with Mandela as commander-in-chief. In January 1962 Mandela left South Africa secretly and travelled to a Pan-African conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to Algeria, where he received some guerrilla training, and then to London where he met opposition leaders. He returned to South Africa in July of that year and was captured on August 5. Convicted subsequently on charges of incitement and illegally leaving the country, he was sentenced to five years in prison.
While he was in prison the police raided the ANC headquarters at Lilliesleaf farm, Rivonia; most of the leading members of the ANC were arrested and seized documents included Mandelas diary of his overseas trip. He and several other activists were put on trial, which came to be known as the Rivonia treason trial. It lasted from October 1963 to June 1964 and Mandela represented himself and his co-defendants. He was sentenced to life imprisonment, and his subsequent statement from the dock became one of the most quoted indictments of apartheid. He spent 18 years on Robben Island before being transferred to Pollsmoor Prison, Cape Town, in 1982 when a worldwide Release Mandela campaign was launched. In 1985 Mandela turned down the offer by President P. W. Botha of conditional release, on the grounds that he was not prepared to compromise his position over the issue of apartheid.
The government of President F. W. de Klerk released Mandela in February 1990 after lifting the ban on the ANC and other proscribed political parties. Mandela assumed the leadership of the ANC, and led negotiations with the government in the difficult years between 1990 and 1994 when, on many occasions, it looked as though talks would collapse and violence would take over instead. In 1991 the government repealed the last of the laws that formed the legal basis for apartheid. Mandela and de Klerk shared the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts to establish democracy and racial harmony in South Africa. In May 1994, following the countrys first national elections in which all races including blacks could vote, Mandela became the first black president of South Africa.
In 1992 he announced his separation from his wife Winnie, but later made her a deputy minister in his Cabinet in May 1994. He dismissed her from this post in April 1995 and filed for divorce in August. In March 1996 he was finally divorced from his wife. In September 1996 he revealed that he was engaged in a long-term relationship with Graca Machel, widow of the first president of Mozambique, Samora Moïses Machel, and a prominent humanitarian, whom he married on his 80th birthday in July 1998.
In May 1996 Mandela concluded the adoption of South Africas new post-apartheid constitution, and in December signed it into law. In the same month, he decided to extend eligibility for amnesty to all political crimes committed up to his inauguration. He also became involved in several peacemaking and diplomatic efforts within Africa, trying but failing to save the life of the dissident Ken Saro-Wiwa executed in Nigeria in 1995, and acting as mediator in the civil war in Zaïre in 1997. In December 1997 Mandela stepped down as leader of the ANC, in favour of the South African vice-president Thabo Mbeki. In June 1999 he formally retired as President of South Africa, and he was succeeded by Mbeki following the election that month. In November he became peace mediator in the civil war in Burundi; a peace deal was achieved the following year and after the establishment of an interim government in November 2001 he was able to step down. In retirement he became a vocal critic of the ANC policy on Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
It's people like this fellow that reveal how disgraceful people like Mr.Trump are...

Mandela in my opinion was a racist! Sure, he brought black people together but drove a wedge between white and black to do it. Africa is a big continent Rastus, not exclusive to just South Africa!
Mandela had similar traits to another one of the liberals heroes, George Soros, in that he would lie, cheat and steal to get whatever he wanted. They tossed him in jail for awhile and when he got out he was your regular African Hero who got elected with whatever propaganda was being spread at the time. Unlike Mr. Mandela I had to work for my Mercedes! As Mr. Mandela lived the good life on the backs of much less sophisticated brothers - everyone was cool with it because he was black... You ever hear the term blood diamonds, Rastus?

Bet you don't even bother to read anything but what they tell you in the DNC emails, do you PowerStroker!?
Do you even know the difference between equality and racism PowerStroker!? If so, explain this
Defiance Campaign and Transvaal ANC Presidency 1950-1954
Mandela took Xuma's place on the ANC national executive in March 1950,[70] and that same year was elected national president of the ANCYL.[71] In March, the Defend Free Speech Convention was held in Johannesburg, bringing together African, Indian, and communist activists to call a May Daygeneral strike in protest against apartheid and white minority rule. Mandela opposed the strike because it was multi-racial and not ANC-led,but a majority of black workers took part, resulting in increased police repression and the introduction of the Suppression of Communism Act, 1950, affecting the actions of all protest groups.[72]At the ANC national conference of December 1951, he continued arguing against a racially united front, but was outvoted.[73]
The ANC Flag is Black, Green and Gold... Black for the people, Green for the land and Gold for the resources of Africa. Sounds pretty racist to me PowerStroker.
So what that MEANS, PowerStroker, is that Mandela was indeed a very big racist himself! But you don't see it that way because you're a liberal programed only to recognize white on black racism for the sole purpose of political advantage, even if it doesn't exist. You live in your own little world totally devoid from reality.
Can you read PowerStroker? When you do read, is there ever any kind of comprehension going on? How did you ever pass your mechanics test?

I am not quite so sure you have a proper understanding of exactly what the heck you're talking about.
Nelson Mandela wasn't the beacon of "American hope" that people like MLK and other greats were, rather Nelson Mandela was VERY PRO BLACK and thats his right. That is not what bothers me PowerStroker.... What bothers me are people like you running around glorifying this guy for something he most certainly wasn't! He was not an equal rights kind of guy and he sure as hell did not give a damn about the white minority - in fact he used his racism to rise to power in a predominantly BLACK South Africa.
Now you can lay your $hit on as thick as you like, that's your right too... But it's my right to say, "Hey, you're full of shit".
To me Nelson Mandela was a guy who used racism like any other dictator who clings to power. I was not impressed with Nelson Mandela and feel his entire tenure served to enrich only himself and not the people that were tricked into his deceptive "my brother" facade. I see a lot of this in Obama too, which is why I think Obama admires Mandela so much - even if Mandela did snub Obama back when he visited South Africa while President... You know how them selfish people are PowerStroker, they can't stand to share the lime light.
If South Africa was doing so well under Mandela, PowerStroker, then why have people like Gates, Clinton and many others of extreme wealth have to go over there to help cure disease and do so much humanitarian work? Was it because Mandela really didn't do right by his people? Or is it because Mandela was corrupt and allowed these wealthy people to use South Africa as a safe haven to launder their fortunes? These are the same kind of people that Mandela claimed were oppressing South Africa during the Apartheid!
Either you're too dumb to read between the lines, or you're in on it. Either way, I have no desire to visit any part of Africa. I am told they don't even like black people from America there! Which is probably the reason Mandela had to snub Obama during his last visit.

The guy always got under my skin. I can remember as a kid all the controversy he stirred up, even making its way into the movie Lethal Weapon.
I never really understood it back then, I just thought it was one of them foreign things that boiled over.
Later on I researched the guy and read about how he was against giving white minorities any play, yet after taking power he gets a Mercedes while his people starve while the same rich liberal billionaire white minorities continue to use them as a political football. That's how it reads, please feel free to correct me where I am wrong! Mandela was against helping minorities and insisted they were the problem with South Africa, now turn that around - what if that same mentality was in play here in America? Would you still support it? Yet you do with Mandela...
I just can't figure it out, but some things have a way of rewriting themselves as public perceptions shift. What is right today might be wrong tomorrow.

It's not the same thing though. Even though whites were the minority in South Africa, they still oppressed the blacks. It seems no matter whether they are in the minority or the majority, the people with darker skin get screwed.

+1 on that !!!
Equality should not be based on your race, color, or religion. It should be everyone's basic human right.

No, I was just curios as to his where-about's, that's all...
You know all-to-well that he usually appears, carpet bombs, & then gets sent on a vacation lol ! I wasn't sure if I'd missed-the-action, that's all ! ( Where's his avatar ?)...
I guess that 2-week window of when he usually posts is just about here...

But I can assure you that if he were banned his name would no longer appear on the rolls of the User List.
If you should ever get to "wondering" the status of anyones account you need not look any further than the user rolls... A banned user will not appear in the top posters section, although their post still live. That's not to say Stoma hasn't had a few hundred post deleted over the past decade+. LOL

I have 10 more days to decide if I want to re-open my Twitter account...
All the tasty tid-bit and morsels made for a good alternative when aimlessly surfing the net late at night... Plus this Jack Dorsey seems to be a pretty good fellow...
Perhaps I just got caught up in Twitters version of a "spam filter".
I don't usually do this, but I am reconsidering my position because I happen to enjoy a lot of other services that Jack Dorsey's companies offer - such as Square Inc.

After watching a Tucker Carlson segment on Fox News on Wednesday, President Donald Trump boosted the unfounded claim that white farmers in South Africa are being systematically killed as the government steals their land.
Its unlikely Trump knows much about South Africa he has yet to name an ambassador to the country but his claim is a favorite conspiracy theory among white nationalists and South African far-right groups, some of which have gained influence in the White House in recent months.
Far-right groups in South Africa and Tucker Carlson have seized on land reform proposals by South Africas parliament aimed at accelerating black ownership to claim the emergence of a white genocide by the countrys black majority. They warn that white farmers are not only at risk of losing their land but are also targeted for violence.
There is no evidence that this is happening. A government land audit released last year showed that white South Africans still own 72 percent of privately held farmland an enduring effect of apartheid. And the claim that white farmers make up a disproportionate number of the countrys victims of violent crime is not backed by statistics. The State Departments own human rights reports on South Africa makes no mention of white citizens being the targets of violence or land theft. Instead, it documents several instances of discrimination against black South Africans. But on Thursday, State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert declined to disavow the notion that white people are under attack in South Africa. The expropriation of land without compensation, Nauert told reporters, would risk sending South Africa down the wrong path.
Yet far-right groups in South Africa have been working hard to find traction for their ideas in the U.S. In May, the leaders of AfriForum, an Afrikaner rights organization that has referred to apartheid as a so-called historical injustice, visited Washington and met with officials at the U.S. Agency for International Development, staffers in Sen. Ted Cruzs (R-Texas) office, and policy analysts at the Cato Institute and the Heritage Foundation. They also did an interview with Carlson at the time.
On Thursday, far-right South Africans and white supremacists around the world were overjoyed to see their claims gaining the presidents attention, as documented by Right Wing Watchs Jared Holt.
ITS HAPPENING: Trump Tweets About WHITE GENOCIDE in South Africa, neo-Nazi Andrew Anglin wrote in the Daily Stormer, a white supremacist site.
This is huge, wrote Lauren Southern, who traveled to a white part of South Africa to create a documentary praising the concept of a white ethno-state and warning of white genocide in South Africa.
Wonderful, tweeted Red Ice TV, a white nationalist outlet.
Is white genocide about to enter mainstream discourse? Do you realize what Trump just did? tweeted Lauren Rose, another white nationalist.
God bless Donald Trump, tweeted Scott Greer, a Daily Caller contributor and a white nationalist.
To AfriForum Deputy CEO Ernst Roets, Trumps interest in South Africas land distribution policies is evidence that his groups messaging is working. We are making progress, Roets wrote, retweeting Trump. Will communicate with the US government and visit Washington again in the months to follow.
Roets insists he is not a white nationalist but prominent white supremacists have long shared his alarmist claims about South Africa. Back in 2012, a group of white supremacists launched the South Africa Project, a nationwide protest effort aimed at stopping what they called genocide of the Whites in South Africa. Earlier this year, American white nationalist leader Richard Spencer described a war that is currently being waged on South African whites. In April, Identity Evropa, a white supremacist group, posted pictures of a protest they staged in front of the South African embassy in Washington, D.C., against the slaughter of White farmers.
I find it VERY odd that youre such a proponent of minority rights here in the USA, but when the rights of minority white people are trampled on in other countries you act like its not a big deal, or not even happening!
I am here to say thats some very criss crossed wiring you got there PowerStroker, then again you seem to think its okay to let Chester the transvestite take a dump next to Sally the nine year old.
Did you ever suffer a serious blow to your head PowerStroker? I mean honestly, I am trying to take a sampling.

In the big picture, whites invaded S.A., & held the locals as slaves, & still pretty much do...
Just because the government changed, & claimed to end black / white divisions, whites still own & control natural resources...
But this happened everywhere white man invaded, like the US-of-A & Oz, & NZ &....But the difference here is that we slaughtered the locals into barely surviving races.
Africa has too many blacks, & it's their home country.- Plus we need some as slaves...
Whilst our monetary system still exists as it does, we're all bound to white supremacy atrocities...That historically stem from Europe.
But our hypocrisy allows us to say "we wouldn't ever do that, not in this day & age", but we happily forget about the past.
Today we provide Africans with arms & debt, so that they can kill themselves off without us pulling a trigger. We only have to manipulate the way different tribes think about each other, & they genocide themselves...
Remember Rwanda ?...

Still, better than getting the news after the fact, as it seems to be a huge trend for news desks now days to screen-shot certain tweets and repost them in their articles.

As of today both of my Twitter accounts are suspended! Why you may ask? We all know why...
Twitter has become a left wing bastion that is intolerant of other views. They allow the most outrageous statements by Liberals and celebrities and then lock the accounts of the people who express displeasure with them!
It has gone far enough to where I feel that Twitter has become a national security risk! Not because of their biased policies, but as I read on their site the past few days it's being used by POC (People of color as they refer to themselves) to quardinate and incite violence, looting and rioting. I have seen this with my very eyes and my making mention of it has caused my account to become locked!
I will go into detail about it more in another thread, but I think it's quite clear that Jack Dorsey is trying to run a liberal network of terror and should not be afforded the protections that real web forums, like this one, who allow free speech on both sides of the spectrum. With Twitters recent war against conservative view points it's clear the platform is no longer worthy of such protections as it selectively enforces rules and that is discrimination.
SHUT DOWN TWITTER AND ARREST JACK DORSEY! That will fix the problem REAL quick!

Twitter is a private enterprise and is not required to operate in any manner you prescribe... If you don't like that, just wait until Trump and McConnell eliminate all regulations from things like for profit health insurance companies.
So you're suggesting that Twitter can discriminate and use it's platform as a means to incite violence and plan riots?
Interesting!

He didn't say that ! He said qt" Just wait until Trumpdt & McDonnell eliminate all regulations from things like for "Profit Health Insurance Companies".

No, no... The most important part was mentioned on the other thread.. and applies to the aforementioned forums...

I don't think Twitter should be allowed to engage in planning terrorism, but I have no problem if they feel the need to fact check people, or remove posts that violate their policies.
Your policies here are more lax than twitter, and that's your prerogative. Just as it is Jack Dorsey's prerogative to moderate his site in a manner he sees fit.
Well I guess we can thank Jack when Section 230 gets revoked... That protection is only valid for companies that do not engage in editing, fact-checking and otherwise forming their own narrative.
Twitter does not want to play the ball as it lies, and that is the problem! We see this a lot on liberal run forums, but for whatever reason people using the service to coordinate riots around the country is no big deal, yet my response to a racist video merits a lockdown? All the while the racist video stays up and the country gets looted and burned down? I guess it's going to be a hard lesson because honestly it's been a LOOOOOONG time coming.
If Twitter wants to register as a political campaign that's fine! But they are a US business and thus not allowed to engage in discrimination by law, but since when has the law gotten in the way of a liberal movement?
