Mkay, the reason I posted my question on this thread is because I wasn't concerned with the media coverage for the purpose of my question. If they didn't allow any reporters of any kind I would still have the same question - what is the desired end result?
You say justice, and that's all fine and good. But specifically what does justice look like in this situation?
Is the goal to finally make an official finding of guilty, so their life in prison is justified on paper? I'm pretty sure they are already experiencing a life in prison and really don't care about our paperwork, so that's why I ask.

Not really sure I'd call the current residents of Gitmo "loose and rich." What color are they presently wearing at gitmo? I don't know much about military judges, are they impartial?
For that matter, what happens to US soldiers who are captured on the battlefield by an enemy? Do they get the same kind of justice we give to their people?
A rope huh, what happens if someday we make peace with their country and propose a prisoner exchange for some of our own people. It won't work well if we have executed all of theirs.

Not the ones at gitmo but the ones still loose and need to be there! They are wearing orange, chained wrists, gas masks and kneeling in rocks outside from the pics I have seen. Those are the high risk isis, al queda etc. I don't believe everyone is treated like that and there are 2 places, Gitmo and camp 7.

One should be convicted of treason before being punished for it. As U.S. Citizens, they would be prosecuted in the U.S. if there were enough evidence to bring such charges. Just like Manifort, Cohen, Stone and the others.
