.@Bakari_Sellers calls #KanyeWest a negro who doesnt read.@TaraSetmayer calls him a token negro@donlemon chuckles in agreement.
I am LIVID.
Retweet so EVERYONE sees how much @CNN HATES blacks who support @realDonaldTrump!
A CNN panel severely mocked rapper Kanye West during a segment discussing President Donald Trumps invitation to the White House.
My issue with Kanye West is quite simple, its that anti-intellectualism simply isnt cool, CNN commentator Bakari Sellers argued.
Offering Kanyes inability to define the STEM acronym as anecdotal evidence, Sellers claimed, Kanye West is what happens when negroes dont read.
Host Don Lemon and other panelists cackled at Sellers insults.
Next podcast host Tara Setmayer one-upped Sellers, claiming West was Trumps token negro, and said, Black folks are about to trade Kanye West in the racial draft.
Whats funny to me is to watch all these white people behind Trump clapping away at the name of Kanye West when it wasnt that long ago that Kanye West said that George W. Bush doesnt like black people after Hurricane Katrina. And you know now all of a sudden because Kanyes put on a MAGA hat and hes an attention whore like the president, hes all of a sudden now hes the model spokesperson? Hes the token negro of the Trump administration? This is ridiculous.
Setmayer added she believed Wests opinions were invalid because hed sought mental health therapy in the past.
And no one should be taking Kanye West seriously. Hes clearly has issues. Hes already been hospitalized, not to trivialize mental health issues, but obviously Kanye has taken a turn in a very strange way.
Conservative commentator Candace Owens slammed the segment as proof the network had gone full blown RACIST.
I want you guys to imagine if those words were EVER uttered on @FoxNews, Owens wrote on Twitter. CNN has finally committed to going full blown RACIST. They want their slaves back.
Trump gave a shout-out to West during a rally in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Tuesday, and at an impromptu press conference on the White House lawn the same day, where he called Kanye a terrific guy who loves what were doing for African American jobs.
Kanye is a smart guy, the president added.
West is heading to the White House Thursday to discuss manufacturing resurgence in America, prison reform, how to prevent gang violence, and what can be done to reduce violence in Chicago, according to White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders.
