I have managed to match the mega number (07) twice in the lead up to this massive jackpot... Usually I too spend $12 as I pick two sets of numbers based on birthdays and then I do two easy picks. I won $6 once and I won $8 in this last drawing where I had the mega number plus one of the 5 white balls.
I plan on stepping it up to about $25 on the next drawing, just because it is a special occasion.. it is not everyday you get to take a swipe at almost $2 billion dollars for $25...
I also plan on playing the PowerBall tonight with the winnings from the last mega-millions drawing... I guess that is up to $400 million which is about the sweet spot to where I feel it is worth playing LOL, because who needs a few million when the jackpot is low!?

Out of 7 tickets I only managed to match the Mega number! Grrrrr....
So that makes three times I have won the Mega number in this jackpot. They still havent said if anyone has won the jackpot yet but I won twice with the number 07 as a Mega number and once tonight with 05 as the Mega.
Think the odds are something like 0.000033 or a 99.999977 percent chance you will lose. lol
Still it was nice to worry about what I would do with the 900 million cash option for a day or two!

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) Lottery officials say someone has won the record $1.6 billion Mega Millions jackpot.
Mega Millions officials said a ticket purchased in South Carolina matches all six numbers in Tuesday nights drawing. The massive jackpot is the worlds largest ever lottery grand prize.
And its possible that the world will never know the winner.
South Carolina is one of eight states along with Delaware, Georgia, Kansas, Maryland, North Dakota, Ohio and Texas where winners can remain anonymous.
The $1.6 billion prize reflects the annuity option, paid over 29 years. However, nearly all winners take the cash option, which for Tuesdays drawing was an estimated $913 million.
Dude that won this massive jackpot sat on it for almost the entire time and just recently cashed his ticket!
Talk about someone who put a lot of trust in his advisors! I don't think anyone should be private when it comes to winning a public lottery! We the people / players have a right to know that we aren't being swindled! You never know!
That being said, I did take a shot at the measly $550 million in PowerBall tonight, wish me luck!

I don't usually play unless it's 1/2 billion or more jackpot. Seems to swell up that high every 6-9 months between the mega-millions and the power-ball games.

Best I have ever won since lotteried began is $32 though :(
My Aunt won $50K in CT lotto back in the 70's when it first started. Didn't need it they were worth 9mil but good for them anyway. I prefer seeing people really need it win but doesn't always work that way.
When I was about 19 years old I purchased a lotto ticket before going to Windsor Canada to party... While in Canada I got sucker punched in the mouth outside of Bentley's night club and bleed all over the hotel pillow and woke up with a major fat split lip...
When I returned home I checked the lotto ticket and had won $200!
I felt so lucky! LOL

For all we know that last $1.7 trillion dollar jackpot could have been an inside job to cover the money Obama sent to Iran!
They should not allow lottery winners to remain anonymous! PERIOD!
Everyone else playing the game has a right to know that a REAL PERSON won and who that lucky person was! It's a public lottery not a private one!
And how the hell is the lottery able to keep this newly minted billionaires name secret when our own government can't even keep the lid on warrants for Roger Stone? I mean are we to believe the lottery is more tight lipped than our government agencies? I mean really!?

Well it's actually the POWERBALL this time, rather than the Mega Millions...
BUT, I can tell you now that you didn't win the grand prize... nobody won and the new Jackpot on Monday will be something on the order of $2 billion, with just under $1 billion cash pay out!
That's a lot of dough!
And what's up with the gunpoweder treason on Nov 5th? Hard to remember if you were never there in the first place.
