Fart on Demand is now a feature in Tesla vehicles

As if we needed any more proof that Elon Musk is as guylike as guys can get, Tesla has unveiled a new Easter egga surprise bonus featurethats sure to please everyones inner Cletus Klump.

TechCrunch reports on the companys new Emissions Testing Mode, which you can activate to send out fart noises whenever you put your turn signal on, or to spew out fake flatulence on demand.

There are six settings for various types of fartsyou can hear Ludicrous Fart, Short Shorts Ripper, Boring Fart, and others hereplus a seventh setting that picks a gassy option at random.

Musk has hinted hes considering adding a fart on demand option to the mobile app as well.

Jalopnik reports on two other new Tesla Easter eggs: a Romance Mode setting that lets you activate a virtual crackling fireplace on your cars LCD screen, and Pole Position, which lets you use your Teslas steering wheel to play a version of the classic video game.

It is a gimmick... Musk is well known for gimmicks. Flamethrowers, farting turn signals... you name it...

It is really nothing all that impressive considering how computerized the newer cars are becoming... Anymore the dash on some of these newer cars are just LCD or Plasma monitors! Changing any kind of audible indicator would in essence be as easy as changing your phones ringtone. Software updates are a great way to ensure you get feedback and also a great way to ensure you control the lifecycle of whatever logic programmed device sold. There needs to be new laws that allow the end user and the aftermarket the right to challenge and replace a manufactures end of life death curse - aka engineered obsoletion. It is a basic consumer right of ownership!
