How long does it take to charge a Tesla Model 3?

Well according to Google it takes

76.75h at 110V, 8.5 to 12h at 220V

In other words,

77 Hours @ 110V

8.5 to 12 Hours @ 220V

75 Minutes @ Tesla Super Charger

So every 300 miles you would be stuck waiting over an hour to recharge - IF they had a supercharger!

This hardly seems like something you could rely on! It takes 5 minutes to fill up a car with gasoline! And if there isn't a gas station within your range - there probably isn't much civilization.

Good points SELLC.

If you're a daily-driver, live in the suburbs, & only travel to work & back, you may only need to recharge once a week. In the US-of-A, it would suck I suppose, as I'm pretty sure you're 110-Volts, but other parts of the world are 240-Volts.

In 10-years time, there'll likely be better options & recharge speeds, plus competition too.

Being so green efficient isn't a bad thing IMO.

Just about anyone who has 110 has the ability to go 220v by pairing two circuits by way of breaker. Most home appliances run on 220 here Rastus, it's just the regular small appliances run 110 because its safe in the event of electrocution.

We really do not know if this is a green alternative yet Rastus... We have yet to see what happens later down the road when yards are packed with rotting and or exploding batteries.

Very, very true !...

Maybe like Nukes, they can reprocess the batteries for a second life ?

So tell me Rastus, when the entire world is running on electric cars how do you suppose they will meet that massive new power demand? Nuclear power plants?

Or do you think they will design a small reactor, something similar to Mr. Fusion on the movie Back to the Future II - have you seen that?

LOL !

Solar power & wind-farms are quite successful, even with today's technologies, for supplying additional power to the grid. And they don't destroy a country or its people if / when things go kerboom !

A smart government would make it law to have solar-power fitted to every new home built IMO... And every sky-scraper too where possible.

Even whilst you folks are suffering through short days through winter, the warmer southern states can supply their power to the grid, & you guys can return the favor in your summer for the southerners air-conditioners !

But it's already a known fact that renewable energy can only supply 16% of the current energy needs now, and that is with a majority of gasoline powered vehicles on the road!

So realistically, where do you think they are going to find this additional energy? They can only put solar panels and wind farms in so many places, and even then the solar panels aren't exactly environmentally friendly to make either! Wind farms are noisy and somewhat of an eyesore as I have driven thru many - plus they kill a lot of birds. Hydro Power? Well that kills a lot of aquatic life along with raising the temperatures of surrounding waters.

How could anything but Nuclear power deliver the increased energy needs!? Don't kid yourself Rastus!

According to data released on Aug. 24 by the U.S. Energy Information Agency (EIA), renewable energy in the U.S. through the first half of 2016, including hydro-electric power, biomass, geothermal, wind, and solar (including distributed solar), provided 16.9 percent of electricity generation.

I don't know. My Buddy went west WA state to OH to here, didn't charge that often, car tells you where to go, no lines, He had no issues with it. Known the guy 40 years. He does have his own charger in his car port so for local stuff no prob.

I know you are questioning this elec car stuff, me too. I'm watching.

I flew gas RC model planes and control line since a kid, started 5th grade (I'm 64) and helis. Eventually went to LIPO electric aircraft. No real noise, no gas, no castor oil mess, no glow plugs..... Have a few charged batts and fly your brains out. Now I have had a few cool 4 stroke plane engines but if I fly the models again I doubt ever gassers again. LIPO is awesome

 LOL !

Energy use reduction is a start, & nukes also only supplies around 20% of your needs. And take a look at the growing mess of nuke-waste...eg, google Hanford....177,000,000 tonnes of nuke shyte you can't do anything with, that kills everything.

To believe the gov't in one-of-their reports is non-sense too.

Look, eventually they will figure out how to recycle that stuff - or have the technology to either destroy it or shoot it into outer space.

I am pretty sure we a mining astroids because we have shot an enormous amount of our own planet into outer-space and thus the weight / mass balance gets more and more out of whack each space mission... People do not think of this because they have small minds... It isn't what we doing on the planet that is changing things, it is what we are sending out into orbit and outer-space that is physically changing the earth... You all think about that for awhile.

Oh, you must mean Space Force ?....Err Star Wars II ?...

I'm sure that our Russian friends tried sending the nuke-waste into outer-space at one time, but the rocket exploded & the nuke-shyte landed all over Canada...And of course, the Russians nearly paid for all of the damages in a cash settlement lol !

Yes, it's true...I'll try & get some more details, as it happened a long time ago.

Nuclear waste is the worst crap ever created by humans. Even worse than Stoma.
