As stated previously, I have no problem with a privately financed wall, but you NEED to get a permit to build a fence any higher than 6ft tall in my town, apparently they have the same ordinance there. The city would be well within their rights to force the removal of this wall section. All of your gofundme donations would go a lot farther if the people spending them did things correctly.

The dealership at which I work is presently undergoing a $9 million renovation/expansion. In our case the building permit cost us bit more than it otherwise would have. The city told the contractor that because so many things have been done to the building over the last 40 years for which no permits were pulled, they would simply add the costs of the permits that would have been needed to the application for this renovation, it ended up coming to $170,000 for a piece of paper. That's just one of the things that caused the escalation of the price for this job (which was originally quoted at $7mil). Lots of surprises - the excavator struck the big water main for our whole block, so I had to poop at the gas station down the road. Then the next day as they were digging for footings, they scooped up some urinals and lockers from a long burried basement that some of the old timers remember used to be the locker room. The place is an absolute disaster, but at least my work space is finished.

Nothing worse than having to take a dump at a gas station, unless it's a clean, well-kept bathroom! In the world of gas station bathrooms you have about a 90% chance it's not going to pass the white glove test. Still, many gas stations discourage people from using their rest rooms.

I am not really sure why people have a problem with a border wall, seems like there are walls all around us! Our homes and workplaces all have walls to keep people out and maintain our privacy and relative security. There is a big problem down at the border right now with illegal immigration and it seems clear that a majority of the people trying to enter the US are trying to take advantage of us.

It would also seem that when it comes to renovations or repairs that it's rare that anything will ever come in on budget. Par for the course.

We Build the Wall refuted the liberal mayors charges.

We Build The Wall Inc. emailed ABC-7 the following statement:

We Build The Wall has done everything they need to do to be in compliance with all regulations. Weve had members from Sunland Park city government out to inspect the site and to witness the first concrete pour. We believe this is a last ditch effort to intimidate us from completing this historic project by a local government with a long history of corruption problems.

 

On Wednesday The Gateway Pundit spoke with Brian Kolfage, the founder of We Build the Wall. Brian told us this was nothing more than a witch hunt.

Brian Kolfage: We believe we have the correct permits. We have done everything necessary to remain in compliance. The city inspectors were down and gave the approval last week. This is just a political witch hunt and we are not going to back down.

More This is interesting. The Sunland Park Facebook Page has a Mexican administrator(?)

I guess it's Brian Kolfage's word against the mayor's. Perhaps Brian can post a picture of the permit with signatures from the city inspectors to clear this up?

No, I'm the one who believed he was a citizen all along. This building permit issue should be pretty easy to prove either way, and I would urge Mr. Kolfage to do so by showing the permit.

I'll be happy to, once I see a building permit.

I'm told repeatedly that the problem with these people isn't that they are brown, but that they are ILLEGAL.

I would submit that if your problem is truly with illegality, then you should lead by example and build a wall LEGALLY.
