Now I am sure over time the high end versions may crest the $100k mark, but the fact they are pricing the base model under $60k says a whole lot!
I'd seriously consider one!
They also for the first time have made the new C8 Corvette to where it can be ordered in right hand drive, so people like Rastus can get in on the fun too!
Soon the whole world will own a Corvette!
Look out Ferrari, Lamborghini and Fiat! GM is about to eat your lunch!

The base-model may well be an under-powered version folks, so beware of the possibility of false advertising here...
The first few pictures ( to my eyes ) see the tachometer only reaching 4,000-rpm before red-line starts...
One of the last pictures sees ( to me ) the hi-po version, where the red-line starts at 5,500-rpm on the tacho.

The speedo on these cars are 100% digital - aka "monitors"...
What you are seeing is not a mistake, nor is it slight of hand - the new Corvette has several different modes that change things like the handling and even the redline.
So depending on what mode you are in, that will dictate what your speedo looks like and also it's "redline".
If you read more into the car you will see it really is an amazing value! Sure, the 495 HP is not the most in the industry but what you have to consider is that this engine is naturally aspirated and the weight of this vehicle is very low compared to others.
I am sure they will strap a supercharger or something on the ZR1 version, or other such package as a Grand Sport.. I'd imagine that thru the years they will have the horsepower up to 800-1000 before the middle of C8 cycle.
And while GM test their vehicles much longer than most, the real test is when people start driving these things every day!
