That is right folks! Widespread corruption has been proven within the ranks of the UAW... I can even remember when the UAW made massive pushes to help get Obama elected! Here in Detroit-Metro Michigan it was quite profound!
"The union pushed back against The Detroit News' report that UAW officials took secret cash payments at a Detroit strip club called Bouzouki Greektown."
I should also mention that both the wife and I have been to the Bouzouki Lounge, it's a strip club in one of the most swanky areas of Detroit. Could have sworn someone threw a beaner in my wife glass of Chardonnay the last time we were there but it could have been anyone, including the people we were there with! LOL
Eat your heart out Jimmy Hoffa!

How exactly? I think lots of things are done better by private enterprise. I wouldn't for example want the government to build my computer or my car. On the other hand there are many things the Government does do much better/more efficiently than the private sector ie: health insurance, utilities, roads etc.
Insurance!? WTF!? IS YOUR INSURANCE THRU THE GOVERNMENT!?
Utilities!? WTF!? Are you aware our grid is in VERY poor condition and that Texas has it's own grid? What about that utility in California? REALLY?
Roads!? Have you ever been to Detroit!? Our new Governor got elected with the slogan "Fix the damn roads" she's a Democrat and guess what!? On top of all the taxes we already pay she wants to increase gas taxes to the highest in the nation to do it! What about all the money we already pay or have paid!?
I think it's clear, you might be FOS!

First, I'm not in the UAW, I'm a Teamster. Second, Obama SAVED GM from disappearing off the face of the planet, and then turned it back over to the private sector once it was saved. With regard to health insurance, no, I have a plan through my union, and while it is good, it's not nearly as efficient as Medicare. I would like a slightly revenue positive Medicare buy in option available for those who aren't yet eligible by age for the free one. Then people could choose whether they want private or government health insurance (I would pick Medicare).
Utilities run by the government are done so at a much lower cost to the consumer since there isn't a profit motive behind it. With regard to the condition of the utility infrastructure, that is a product of how much people are willing to pay in taxes. If there were a referendum on your ballot that suggested raising your taxes to fix the roads, would you vote for it?
If the Federal Government does take over the UAW I am sure it will have implications for the Teamsters, one of them being that the Government could take them over as well!
If you have health insurance thru a pool from your Union then I highly doubt you would take the Government option, unless your motives were to not pay for health insurance. So in other words, you're lying. You could prove me wrong by going into any one of your Teamster meetings and video record yourself suggesting that everyone lose their private insurance and go on Medicare, and of course that video will never be uploaded because you are in fact lying.
Obama did not save GM... Bankruptcy allowed a NEW GM to emerge, one where public offerings may have placed enough common shares in the hands of foreign hands than what is being held by Americans! The old GM is dead, KILLED by Obama because he would not bail them out. I just don't know where you come up with these bizarre fictions about Obama doing anything for anyone unless it somehow enriched him one way or another. Obama is a fool, and you are a fool for buying into that nonsense.
In closing, fuck your new taxes! I want a better accounting and use of the existing taxes, which are much too high already! Everything is taxed, except for food but they have figured out a way to tax fast-food or any restaurant purchased food. I could fill pages of all the taxes people must pay, where is all this money going? Obviously it's not being used efficiently if they need more! After all these decades building roads you mean to tell me that they still can't figure out how to make them better and for less? What motivation do they have? NONE! Because people like you run around like a fool suggesting we just make new taxes!
You and people with your mindset have caused most of this mess... Your bleeding heart stories, Oprah like tactics of exploiting people for gain and the constant ignorance when it comes to common sense solutions are the Hallmark of the Democrat party and their respective Unions who give so deeply to the Democrat campaigns.

I think you misunderstand my Medicare public option so I will explain my proposal better...
In the Affordable Health Care Act (Obamacare) there was an exchange created where health insurance plans that conform to a minimum standard were offered to those who don't already have coverage, and a sliding scale of subsidies depending on an individuals income were included to help people afford one of the plans from the exchange...
I merely suggest adding a Medicare option on the exchange, that people WOULD STILL PAY FOR at a slightly revenue positive rate determined by the Medicare actuary, call it cost plus 3% for the sake of argument. That way, for people who don't already have insurance, there would be another OPTION on the exchange, one by the way that would have a much lower cost than most (the typical private insurance plan is sold for a LOT more than cost +3%).
This would accomplish 2 big things:
1 Put downward pressure on prices for the private plans who now have to compete in a free market with a slightly revenue positive Medicare plan.
2 The 3% profit margin would strengthen the Medicare trust fund which is presently underfunded and has a very high risk pool of old people.
Understand, I'm not suggesting the old people who get it for free should start paying for it, I'm merely suggesting that a paid version be an option on the exchange.
I would also suggest allowing drug prices to be negotiated with the pharmaceuticals by the government for such a program to improve costs and efficiency even more.

And your above answer explains exactly why your roads suck by the way. You need to be willing to pay for improvements, clearly you are not, and the fact that your infrastructure sucks only proves that democracy works - No taxation without representation - you get exactly what you want, or in this case, deserve.

I think you're mistaken... The previous Mayor of Detroit, a Democrat, went to jail on corruption charges and the City went bankrupt. Not only that but two of the big three also went belly up!
People have already paid for these services, probably several times over by now.
And you should also know that as a mechanic I could care less if they fix the roads! We just hate having to pay for it two or three times over! We also don't like to see new roads falling apart in less than five years!
Some of the BEST stretches of highway I have EVER driven on were private toll roads, usually down South. Heck they will burrow a hole thru a mountain and even run street sweepers down the road to ensure the road stays in optimal condition.
So you can keep smoking that crack.

I have been to Alabama, lots of hills... the toll roads I speak of are not quite that far South but they do trail thru the mountains.
I like driving my Corvette thru them in the spring and summer months, although it probably is getting flat spots on the tires from sitting all winter. I hope to put some miles on it in 2020 driving cross country.

Here's a link to the next film, that goes much into detail about USAP's, & other gigantically important information.
Enjoy ! And find the time to watch it all, as it's a game changer imo.

Cool, I am going to check them out but currently I am unable to enjoy anything with all that's on the mind. It's been unusually busy since Christmas - not that I am compiling, because I'm not..
Seems everyone is busy lately, a run past the local bars on the way to get parts and the parking lots are all PACKED! Wasn't long ago under Obama no-body had any money to enjoy themselves and the bars parking lots were all empty. I don't get to actually go into the bars as I usually drink at home if I even drink at all. I use the bar parking lots and my work load as a way to gauge the economy and from what I am seeing it's BOOMING!
