Like you, I also worked thru the entire pandemic. At the start of the lockdowns and almost until the end my business was being hurt by many factors of the shutdown from decreased business on thru to supply disruptions and delays in shipping... not to mention I think I've gained 15 pounds!
I suppose I don't need the money either but I want it to be extremely punishing for the Government because I don't ever want them to think they should do something as ignorant as shutting down the economy ever again!
I am seeing a lot of people getting EIDL loans from the SBA for very large dollar amounts, even my small company got a small PPP loan of $5,100 from my bank under the SBA program which I am sure I'll be forced to pay back at 1% interest while most people will get their PPP loans forgiven. I still think the SBA is a laudable joke of an organization and in some ways I also find the conservative mantra of "capitalism" to be an absolute JOKE as now most businesses are now deeply indebted to the Government programs and subject to unprecedented Government influence or risk having to pay back large sums of Government money.
Then there is the simple fact that these fuck-stick Senators who have been collecting their massive Government paychecks like nothing ever happened during the pandemic lockdown are now smugly saying they don't feel the money cannon needs to be re-loaded? Fuck these pencil necks! I say their checks need to be withheld for a few months and lets see how fucking cocky they are then! I guess this is the part that bothers me the most!

I believe I was talking about you loading the parts cannon.
As far as another stimulus, I don't need it, but a whole lot of people do so I guess I'll vote yes.
So how you hanging in there PowerStroker? Still stuffing the sofa?
I just got denied, for the second time, an SBA EIDL loan, this time under Biden and his new chick Isabel Guzman.
It's clear to see the "business as usual" mentality over there, new face same bullshit. Think I'll make a new thread about it. Bumping this one because this is where I mentioned getting denied the first time around.

I think anyone who wants a flu... er, I mean vaccine for the novel flavor of the year aught to get one! Paid for by the guberment too! Especially given the informercial bombardment of the previous administration, because let's face it - science only works when 70% of the people deem it to be herd ammunity and by gawd I want you guys to get us there quick as possible! I know lots of people who have gotten the vaccine, all of them said the first one was no big deal but most of them said the second one put them down for a few days with flu like symptoms. All have pulled thru so far, so there is that! lol
I been doing okay too PowerStroker, a little bit stir crazy because I have been cooped up the better part of a year. Thinking I might take a little spin in the Firebird today and fix a few things and maybe a few things around the house. It's been slow the past few weeks, unusally slow so I am positive that once I commit to a big project of my own customers will be beating down the door... that is usually how it works.
How has business been the past few weeks at your shop? About average? Better than Average? Slower than usual? Seems to be hit and miss.

Actually my insurance covers the vaccine, though as always, the taxpayers will pick up the tab for people without insurance. I got the Pfizer one 5 hours ago. So far the only symptom has been a little tenderness at the injection site and some tiredness, but that seems to have passed. I did schedule a day off for after the 2nd dose because I've also heard that one can pack a bigger punch as my by then - already trained immune system gears up for a perceived actual battle. It's kind of a relief to have the 1st one in me. In a couple weeks it will make me about 80% unlikely to have a bad outcome from something that has already killed more than a half million Americans, and 10 days after the 2nd dose it will be extremely unlikely that I will have any problems from this disease at all. For what it's worth, I hope you and your family get the shot when you can. I know you view this as a political issue, but it's really a public health issue.
Work has been steady, I produced 48 hours this week which is a tad higher than normal for me. It's pretty strange actually, the effort I put in rarely changes, but the produced hours do, simply based on the quality of the work. Pretty much 65% of my week is warranty work, and since 2013 there has been PLENTY of warranty work (a lot of Ford products went down in quality that year - at least on the smaller vehicles anyway). Oh how I long for the days when Alan Mulally was steering the ship. He would have never allowed the 1.5 (four cylinder) and 1.6 to be put in production, what garbage. Though the DPS6 started under his tenure so I guess he wasn't infoulable either.
You got the Pfizer, eh? Did it give you a hard on for the duration of the day? LOL, it's a joke I like to make because they also make Viagra. Most of the people I know got the Moderna, you know... the one they are assosiating with Dolly Parton... So it's possible you might not have as bad of a 2nd shot, but let us know either way! Glad to hear your insurance picked up the tab althought it's highly likely they will just submit to be re-imbursed by the Government. I am sure they won't make a big deal out of it because they want you to feel like you're getting what you paid for.
You know what I think killed one half million Americans PowerStroker? I think it was the fear and the anxiety that got a lot of them when Trump allowed the country to be shut down and put that weasel Dr. Fauci on the air... Trump couldn't help himself as he really is a narcissist who loves any attention he can get. Unlike you, and your Democrat party, I am able to be bi-partisan when it comes to such things. Sure the Democrats did not help by shutting down many Democrat run states, nor did Michigan or New York help when they packed old folks homes with COVID positive people, but they needed the death toll numbers to get up there if they were going to pull off the grift. Trump's failure was allowing it to happen and then actually throwing fuel on the fire with his vane televised Rona-mercials day after day. He failed and rightfully so it cost him his job. I guess thanks are in order considering it was you and the Democrats who fired that fat fucker, and rightfully so! The entire family and I voted for Trump because we felt you guys were cheating with the lockdowns and such to allow mail in voting but the more I think about it, the more I realize that he really did lack the ability to lead in a crisis. I can barely stand to listen to Trump anymore whenever he gets interviewed, such an arrogant guy for being a loser. But then again I already knew this about him, his company and his family after we were mistreated at his Hotel in Las Vegas. I hate to say it but Biden is getting to the same point, I can barely stand to listen to him talk anymore either! I guess it's true what they say - Politicians are like baby diapers in that they need to be changed often, much for the same reason that they become FOS.
All that being said, I suppose I'll just go jump in a lake before I voluntarily get vaccinated. It's not that I don't trust the science, I am well aware that the professionals in the medical field have come up with great results over time when it comes to healthcare and medications. I am also well aware that Doctors are only human and Hospitals alike must make a living and pay the bills too. I am somewhat shocked that Democrats are getting behind the Trump vaccines that he rammed thru testing at warp speed. You all spent his entire term hating him, but are now on the bandwagon 100% with his vacine that he rushed thru approval? This being America people have the right to decide what they want to do and the way I see things this vacine is being thrust upon people by their jobs and the Government. The mark of the beast comes to mind whenever I hear about people having to have vacine documents to travel or work at places. It's very Orwellian if you ask me. This whole virus may have just been a way to change the world, cooked up by people who probably need to die more than all the innocent people who were scared to death by the scare campaign. Truth of the matter is that I have survived 45 years on the planet without a flu shot and I'll be damned if the medical industry makes such flu or virus shots mandatory every six months from here on out... because you are aware that your vaccine is only good for six months, right? AND that it may not be as effective against new strains? RIGHT? All that being said, I think I'll pass... should something happen later down the road to you or any of my friends or family who took the shot I will still be around to make them all pay the best I can! If I succumb to the virus then you can all just say I was a silly bastard for not taking the shot. At the end of the day there is but one guarantee we all get in life, and that's the fact we will all die one day. Kind of ironic given the topic, no?
I don't know much about this guy Alan Mulally you speak of, isn't he the guy who deepthroated Elon Musk when asked about Tesla? If so, yeah he seems like a bitch. I don't proclaim to see as many Fords as you do, however I do see a fair amount (just not the past month lol) but it seems to me these small 1.5 and 1.6 liter engines are pretty much miniature 1.9 liters that were put in the 1980's Escorts. Difference being is their VVT, Direct Injection, Digital ignition systems and of course the REAL problem - the dry clutch automatic transmission. Everyone has heard about the issues with this transmission, and it's just like Ford to totally miscommunicate their message to the customer. Back in the start of the 6.0 Diesel days they told people they were buying "Maintaince Free" trucks, anything could be further from the truth when talking about a 6.0 or any diesel or even any ICE for that matter! I seen people driving them for 100k miles without ANY service, not even an oil change! Fords also fucked up when they told people they were getting automatic transmissions with their low displacement engines when the truth of the matter was they were getting old fashioned MANUAL dry clutch transmissions that were being shifted automatically by a computer. Sure the transmission itself is somewhat small and prone to other failures, including costly clutch replacements, but the way a dry clutch transmission drives is night and day different than that of a wet clutch automatic. But Fords needed the economy that a dry clutch delivers, so they did what they do... they lied to people telling them they were getting "Automatics" when really they were buying "Manual" transmissions that were automatically shifted. LOL! I shall require compensation from Ford Motor Company if you plan to share anything of what I have discribed in any of your spoon feeding schools or Ford meetings. Fuck them, and although you already knew this I don't feel they deserve to know why, even though they already know. I know that don't make sense, but I wanted to put it out there in "Ford" terms. LOL!!! We can both agree that putting turbos on everything is also a recipe for high service cost once the miles get up there, but they need the power as much as they need the efficiancy, so they do what they do.
Due to the DPS6, if you want to buy "manual" transmission fluid (aka synchromesh) from Fords you will now have to pay almost $30 a quart. Suppose they had to make all that warranty money back reprograming the shift points and probably fucking up the transmissions even quicker by feathering the clutch electronically instead of just telling people, "Hey this is really a manual transmission that is being shifted by a computer and as such it will feel like a manual when driving it".
But hey, what do I know... I got my Firebird back together today, installed a bunch of little panels the kid left off. He did a good job overall and learned a lot. It used to be his car, but he decided to trade for that white Corvette. I suppose it's just fate that he is having to re-seal that one now and the engine is out since he basically got his Diploma for what amounts to a half year of school due to the Rona. So now the Firebird is mine and is really inexpensive to plate and insure due to it's age and being licenced and insured as a historical vehicle. Said vehicles only pay a flat $35 fee for plates that are good for TEN YEARS. Insurance is less than $20 per month for a flat amount agreed to up front. The car is only driven on nice days, and most of the times just to wash it or circulate the oil. It's piped and soon to have it's gear back so it doesn't go far. You're also allowed to drive it when testing and there is still lots of things I plan on doing to it providing I'm not forced to sell it because of lack of business and or SBA backing. The entire month of August you can drive a historical vehicle as your daily driver if you want. Car shows, both local and anywhere in the country can be driven to and enjoyed any time of the year. For that reason, it would be hard to let the car go because I really don't drive anywhere since I work right next door to where I live. Next year my Corvette will qualify for Historical plates but I wish they would just give me a fair rate on regular insurance as I like my custom plate, and I like being 100% in that car since I usually take it on vacations and late night ramblings at the Casino. But we will see...
This is what I got done yesterday and today, along with a nice little drive down Hines Drive along with a wash and gas up. (got rained out early yesterday).
You lib sheeple Guinea pigs keep testing these vaccines. Keep proof of your vaccine. Few years you will see "if you took the vaccines you may be eligible for compensation"

So basically there is a one in a million chance that a woman aged between 20 and 48 will develop a blood clot that could feasibly be linked to the J&J vaccine.
Any idea what the statistics are for blood clots in people who actually get covid?
Leave it to Fox to sensationalize. Herpes Zoster is shingles. I've already had shingles, and a year later I got the shingles vaccine. And the article even says they can't necessarily link the vaccine to the cases of shingles.
There are lots of kinds of herpes, a cold sore is one type, so is chickenpox and shingles. There is also genital herpes which is a different strain. There is even a strain of herpes that causes viral meningitis and has nothing to do with sex. It's similar to how there are many different types of Human Papilloma virus... HPV can be the genital type, it can also be a plantar wart on your foot which is a different variant, actually most warts are one kind of HPV or another.
My point is, Fox is deliberately trying to stigmatize vaccines by vaguely implying these reports are of the genital type of herpes (which is wrong) and then further implying that you can end up getting genital herpes if you get the Pfizer vaccine, which is also false.
Pfizer is a MRNA vaccine, and doesn't contain any virus within it. It does contain a genetically synthesized protein that trains your immune system to recognize the protein spikes on an actual Covid19 virus as the enemy and build antibodies specifically to deal with it. This way, you will immediately start fighting it off before it has a chance to really set up camp in your body should you become exposed to it... Assuming you have a functioning immune system anyway.
Yet another example of why Fox viewers are among the most misinformed people in the world.
Oh, is that like MSN leaving out the part about the 16 y/o having a knife and about to stab someone before being shot?
Or was that more like CNN leaving out Floyds long arrest history and the fact he was on meth and was passing counterfit money and COVID while being arrested?
Is "shingles" a form of herpes or not? Yes or no?

Yes, shingles is a form of herpes, I already said as much.
I'm withholding judgement on the officer who shot the girl with a knife because it looks as though he may have done so to protect another person there from being stabbed.
Regarding George Floyd, it turns out he actually wasn't to blame for his own murder - Derek Chauvin is, according to a unanimous jury of his peers. I'm glad we can finally put that one to rest.
He was a horrible cop that murdered a man with unreasonable use of force, and needed to be convicted regardless of which state he was in. There are more like him within the ranks of police forces across the country that must also be purged.
I'm inclined to side with you that killing people is counterproductive. You can't make no money off a dead person... well, perhaps a funeral home does but that's sort of end of the line and no more after that.
Glad to hear things are going good, Brandee and I can't complain either... although we constantly are complaining about something! LOL
