Well folks, we are getting into some interesting times here in 2021, recent sensationalist stories about small traders taking out billionaires on the markets with help from places like Twitter and Reddit, throw in some hooptala about Game Stop and you really do get the sense that something is brewing...
You start to wonder... Really? Small day traders are taking down billionaires? Are there that many of them out there? IIRC they said that some 80+% of the nations wealth was held by like 10% of the population! If that is to be taken as true then I would say these billionaires are all looking at the day traders like low hanging fruit, they be looking at the small investors like
I think we got something good to blame the crash on!
Of course they will be laughing all the way to the bank, as always... but for the few lucky winners and newly minted knights of the industruy I'm sure it will be one hell of a ride.
I have no stocks, so unlike Elon Musk, who almost insides trades with every word out of mouth, I am almost able to laugh about it.
I might add that while buying stocks is not my cup of tea, I do have interests in taking a company public - if only because it's a bucket list item, and hell I am currently in the private sector where people expect "results", I doubt it would change in a public company, but at least I could spread the misery around a little more. That or politics, seems like the most miserable fucks get into that stuff, but man do they make it look fun!
