Can someone please explain to my how the hell foreign crime syndicates were able to heist over HALF of the unemployment money? To the tune of over $400 BILLION dollars?
If you ask me we have too many "Squad" opperatives in our government that is allowing this to happen. I can only imagine the amount of waste dolled out on the PPP and EIDL loans, which probably havent even been quantified yet!
Meanwhile, Americans like myself got tossed scraps... I didn't collect a single penny of unemployment money, even though our state shut down for half a year. Not a penny thru the EIDL and literally SCRAPS from the PPP.
I'd say most, if not all of my stimuls was used just to support interest payments if we were to break it all down.
What good does it do us to bust these people when the money has already been spent or transferred to foreign countries? We will spend even more prosecuting them and deporting them only to have Democrats turn around a let a fresh new batch in.
Liberalism is seriously a form of rabies.

The company got $10,200 in PPP loans, or $5,100 paid in two annual installments. ONE of the loans was forgiven, in the amount of $5,100 so far.
In other words, I was given 30% of my normal take home pay.
Think about that PowerStroker! Can you live and support a family on 30% of your pay?
C'mon dude, tell us all how you can support a family of four (including yourself) on $5,100! FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR!
I couldn't live on $5100 for a year, not even close. So to answer your question about how I would handle such a situation...
If my only source of income was my own business, and it required government bailouts to keep me afloat. I would immediately recognize it as a failed business model, and get myself a nice steady job at a dealership.

I know a guy, who even in his prime as an ASE certified mechanic who worked at a dealership and got upside down in his home and lost it! Currently the same guy is working at the same dealership and can't even afford to drive the vehicles he is paid to fix at the dealership! In fact he drives an old clapped out Honda and an old F-Series pickup. Said guy also couldn't make enough money to support a family, let alone himself, and as such will have no real legacy to speak of. Said guy also recommends that other people work for the dealership because, well, I guess misery loves company.
I know another guy who is State Certified Mechanic who has owned his own business for 20 years and still has his home and drives Corvette, Mercedes, Lincoln and other performance cars. Said guy raised a family and has a wife and two kids to carry on his legacy. He too is still working at his business but is very disappointed with all the idiot Democrats and Republicans who keep fucking up the economy by wasting money and getting the nation in debt with nothing to show for it.
I don't know about you PowerStroker, but I'd sure hate to be that first guy! And did I mention how angry he is all the time?
I have not taken a single penny of unemployement my entire life, nor have I ever been given any business loans or grants to start my business, unlike all the corporate welfare companies that dominate currently - FORD included.
On two occasions the business got an annual loan disbursement in the amount of $5,100 (When the Government shut down the country for an experiment) with one of them having been forgiven for 2020. I only shared this information because of how pathetic the dollar amount was, and even YOU admit that said annual dispursement is in no way adequate to live on. Thankfully I didn't rely on the Government, and I worked every day during the pandemic to ensure I didn't go into forbearance on my home. Since all my vehicles are paid for and insured for top dollar I'm also not in massive debt for a vehicle that will depreciate every day, rather all my cars are rising in value every single day!
How much money did Ford and your Dealership take from the Government to support your ass thru the pandemic PowerStroker? You don't even know, do you? Well let me tell you, it was in the BILLIONS of dollars in total! So maybe you better sit back down little employee of the big pauper. It's small business that is the backbone of this nation, not the welfare kings and queens you work for!
A big correction is coming PowerStroker... the senile fool that is owned by China is overseas sucking dick so Hunter can pay for his crack habbit. A real career man that Joe Biden, too bad his career has been one of failure. I have every right to be pissed off, both at Trump and Biden! They are two complete failures with assholes large enough for the arm of their puppeteer to control without you even knowing! But I know, because I don't live that pauper life like you and people who live off the public dole! There is a reason people like myself (small business people) are legally discriminated against at every level and it's because if people like us were given the money this kind of bullshit would NEVER be allowed.

Now this is a good one...Well worth posting in the famous quotes thread if I can find it...

Your assertion about my losing my house is incorrect. In the end I sold it for a little less than I bought it for, but I didn't lose it, and I was never late on any payments. I chose to sell it because it was a starter home and I'm at a different point in my life now. I could have easily afforded to keep it, and actually I could have probably owned it outright by now if I wanted to stay there, but I didn't want to do that. Actually according to Zillow, if I had held on to it and sold it now I would have made some money on it, but I didn't want to stay there.
Also, I'm no longer ASE certified. I let those certs expire years ago because they are worthless. I have all of the manufacturer certifications to be a Ford Senior Master Technician, which is all I care about.
As far as being able to afford the vehicles I fix at the dealership, I'm pretty sure I could buy just about any mid priced vehicle Ford makes outright, and I have the credit to afford a totally tricked out Super Duty if I so chose, but I don't choose to because my old F250 and 2015 CR-V suit my present needs quite well.
There is something about having liquid capital and not needing loans and bailouts that just appeals to me. I haven't ever taken unemployment either, I worked every scheduled day throughout the pandemic. I also have that side business where I do CNC lathe work, and that gets more profitable every year, and never once required a loan... PPP or otherwise, to stay afloat - which is the sign of a successful business. Actually, last week I made more doing that than I did working at the dealership. That's an exception to the norm, but it happens every once in a while.
I guess selling at a loss is not the same as forclosure, but when it comes to real estate selling at a loss is still a "loss". You probably would have made quite a handsome profit if you had held onto it and sold in todays market. I only bring it up to remind you just how bad it got back then because honestly a LOT of people did lose their homes during that period under Obama. I'll be honest in saying some of the photos and threads you made about fixing that place up inspired me to get my own place.
I don't carry ASE certifications either, just the required State of Michigan certificate. If I had multiple locatons in different states I'd consider it since some states do not have any certification requirements at all. My son recently got certified in three categories - Brakes, Front End and Engine, super proud of him even if he is working for another shop right now... can't blame him either because things have slowed WAY DOWN since Biden got in office and he needs to make money and enjoy himself even if I spent the last 18 years of his life supporting and training him at my expense. Toward the end he was getting so good I was actually making money with him when things were busy.
I know exactly why you drive old cars PowerStroker, for the same reason I do... BECAUSE WE CAN and because as a mechanic it's not a good look when you have to drive a new car... The savings we enjoy is nothing to sneeze at either because to a majority of people owning a vehicle is the second most expensive expense they have next to their home. I was more or less just pulling your chain about that Honda! LOL
Liquid capital is a requirement to live... if you have no liquid capital you can not pay for anything, that includes the minimum payments and basic every day expenses. I am glad to hear you're still sticking with your CNC side hustle but let's be real, it's a hobby and not a business. What you suggest about successful business not needing loans is just not the reality... Take Apple for example, perhaps the most valuable company in the world worth over a trillion dollars! They take MASSIVE LOANS so they can sit on that liquidity! Check it out yourself and you will see that ALL these big successful businesses are all taking on debt to sit on their liquidity and most ALL of them got some kind of government hand out or concession due to COVID.
You seem to misinterpret my threads about how unfair the lending process is with me needing loans to "survive", like I could not conduct business without them... that is not true and that is why I often throw it back in your face that you "lost" your home, so perhaps you can experence how that feels when someone else does it to you. Given your long winded response it's clear that you don't. You're welcome.

I should also note that if you "Short Sell" your home, which means the bank agrees to take "less" than you owe, it will still be classified as a forclosure on your credit and with the rest of the world.
Don't know who needs to hear that, but there it is...

In my case it wasn't a short sale, It was a normal sale for about 15 grand less than I originally paid in 2002. Even still, I walked away with a check for about $44 grand for the equity I had in it. The bank got every dollar they had coming and they got it all on time. I was actually paying down that mortgage more aggressively than required by making extra principal payments.
I think I briefly considered short selling it several years prior, but I didn't want to screw my credit, so I just stuck with it until the value came up enough for me to minimize the loss. So now my credit report has the nice feather of a mortgage that was completely paid off on time.
Thats good, not the loss part, but that you didn't have to resort to a short sale.
I am not in forbearance or behind on anything either. I just feel like everyone getting crazy high mortgages in the $250-$350k to buy in this market means that I should be able to tap into my equity... but it's all BS.
Thing about most of my debt is it's unsecured revolving, which is the BEST for a small business anyway... you use the money, pay it back and you have the money to use again. That is exactly what I was doing up until I got a $40k haircut across many large lines. It's almost like the banks knew this was coming because all the haircuts happend in 2019 under Trump. I was really hoping Biden changed things to help Small Business, but nothing has changed. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
Now hearing that half of unemployment has been stolen, while at the same time they want to hire more people to monitor Americans crypto activity just doesn't sit right with me. That's a whole lot of money!

Thanks Rastus but it's like anything else, it's still a job...
That tune you posted is pretty good too! But it reminds me of that TV show CSI Las Vegas now.
LOL ! Thanks SELLC, the tune is a rock-solid classic, perhaps even "the" greatest, if not one of them. It first came out in 1972 on the album "Who's Next"...And if you had to have only 1 x Who album in your collection, this is the one. Every-tune is a rock-solid classic.
The tune has appeared on TV shows, & CSI was one-of-them.
Oh yeah, the line "meet the new boss, same as the old boss" is why I posted the tune-up, as it's sung in the song.
