WOW! Did everyone else see the video of that condo collapse that recently happend in Miami!?
That is just insane! One person discribed it sounding like a "crack of lightning" which makes you wonder if perhaps it was done intentionally! I sure hope not!
One thing is for sure, it's not looking good in terms of finding survivors.
How can something like this happen? Clearly you can see the struture is almost suspended by steel beams to keep it off the ground in times of high tide and storms, but could someone honestly not have noticed if these critical and clearly exposed beams were rusting away?
It almost seems if it wasn't done intentionally then it must have been some kind of sinkhole. Honestly the pile of rubble looks to be rather small for the amount of buildings that went down, suggesting the sinkhole was just immediatly filled and the fall to impact only increased the amount of force of hitting solid ground. I sure hope they have evacuated that entire building!
I am sure more details will follow, but for now I am just hoping for as many survivors as possible, even though it looks REALLY BAD.
I guess the poll question should have been "What do you think caused this" but honestly I have this feeling something isn't right about this and it will be used to push the current infrastructure plan that is stalling in congress.
You can go ahead and tell me your early thoughts, I am thinking if it wasn't done on purpose it had to be a sinkhole.

It's too early to tell, but since the water level has risen about 4 inches since 2000, there is speculation that ocean water was able to corrode the foundation to the point where it could no longer support the weight of the building. I sure hope that's not the case, because then this could put at risk tens of thousands of buildings along the coast.
Nuffan might be wise to sell his investment property, assuming it wasn't inside the one that just collapsed.
Steel & salt-water are not a great marriage, that's for sure.
RIP all innocent victims, & condolences to families concerned.

Wonder what ole' Nuffan has been up to...
But seriously, I do feel VERY bad for the victims in this horrific tragedy! Given the hour it's highly probable that most people would be home at that time, if not in bed sleeping! Watching the video it becomes clear there was no escaping and even someone in the near vicinity would have been overwhelmed or killed by the collapse.
Still, I have SERIOUS issues with anyone who is suggesting that people didn't know that salt water and steel didn't mix back when this buiding was made! I also have serious questions about the inspectors who have been inspecting this building since they too would have to know such a combination would take it's toll on the steel beams. From the photos it looks like you can't miss the fact that the building sits on stilts, and why these were not inspected is a question they should be asking.
Perhaps the most spooky thing about the video is how the building collapsed, almost looks exactly like how the WTC buildings went down! Which is to say it looked like a controlled demolition.
Just seems to me like if it had been a rotten steel beam that finally let go the building would have fallen over on it's side, rather than straight down like that... but perhaps that is not how it works? I don't know...
It's just a real shame and I hope they figure out what really happend so they can prevent it from happening anywhere else in Miami!
Any large building like this that fails is a black eye on the entire country! You just don't expect this kind of thing here in the USA, outside of terrorism.
Seems like North Miami, pretty sure I passed this place on my many cruises up and down Collins Ave in the Corvette.
What I can tell you as someone who has been to Miami a few times is this, the entire beach up and down the entire island is a wall of high rise buildings!
I still stand by my original thoughts that this happend either as a result of terrorisim, or a sink hole. These are the only two things that make any sense after having seen the video.
And the only problem with a sinkhole theory is these kinds of buildings have had the earth under them prepared, often times with MASSIVE concrete blocks wherever the structure ties into the ground. That being the case, the building would have just sunk with the massive concrete blocks they are anchored to.
To me, honestly, it looks like the work of thermite. Such thermite does not make a loud explosion and would be quickly covered by the falling building. Someone with detailed plans for the building could have targeted weak spots and that's all it would have taken! They should be looking into who was staying at this building and if anyone there ever had dirt on the Clinton's or any other political party be it local, national or global. Something is not right here! 40 years is not old for a building and like I was saying earlier the entire coast is packed with them from one end to the other on Miami Beach.
If it was thermite, then evidence will be very clear once the rubble is moved away. Another theory, and it's a little on the far-side of thinking, but a directed energy attack could also have been used to bring down the building. Nations aren't spending trillions putting stuff in outer space for nothing... they can already disable a ship with a laser-beam, I can assure you the stuff they have in space is working towards them ends.
I just hope they figure it out and no more people are found dead, although from the looks of it and the hour when it happend... not looking good.
FEMA is in control from what I understand now... so that means the Federal Government will be in charge and overseeing the investigation. You know what that means...

And of course, it could have been fatigue, like the limb of a tree branch falling out of a tree... a few of the wrong stilts splintered and caused it to come down like a pancake. I suppose they do design these buildings to not fall on their sides and come down straight.
It's just such a crazy thing, with so many other buildings on Collins Ave. if it was something alongs these lines then I'd imagine a lot of buildings built in the same time period are now at serious risk.
There are so many high rise buildings on Collins that it's hard to even imagine how they could keep up! I mean it's really crazy how many tall buildings there are side by side, all the way down the island.

Important to note that the last building to collapse in Miami was in the early 1970's... aparently it was a Federal Building and even had FBI offices with many people, including agents, die. From my research they claim it was too much weight on the parking garage above and the cars literally fell thru the ceiling. I have since been able to find a link.
I think it's safe to say the 159 people missing are probably under the mess, especially if these 159 people are just registered residents. We all know people were probably there out of chance, or living under the grid.
Talking about evacuating the other building, not sure but I guess the people that live there should make that choice. I know I wouldn't step foot in that building.

Just think about how much money $7 TRILLION dollars is Rastus!
People have been killed for FAR LESS... and who will get this money?
The same kinds of people and engineers who built the Champlain towers...
Might not even been the Government! Could have just as easily been the private sector who want to help reinforce their big pay day. What better way to encourage infrastructure spending than having a large building collapse in Miami?
The timing is seriously questionable... we just don't see buildings collapse out of the blue here in the USA...

The infrastructure investment isn't going toward privately owned condominiums, it's going toward publically owned roads, bridges, broadband etc. The people who will receive this money are mostly private contracting companies. Think of it as an investment in our country. I'm sure people whined when the interstate highway system was built, but the stimulative effect it has had for our economy has paid for itself many, many times over.
Gotta spend money to make money, you of all people should understand that.

Do you even realize how much $7 trillion dollars is PowerStroker?
If you were paid $100 a second it would take roughly 2,220 years to equal $7 trillion dollars.
It would take roughly 200 years to collect $7 trillion dollars if you were paid $1,000 per second every day.
And it would take roughtly 2.2 years to collect $7 trillion dollars if you were paid $10,000 per second every day.
The truth is, Biden and the Democrats just cannot be trusted with this much money. With $7 trillion dollars nobody will ever notice the millions and billions in kickbacks along the way.
It's best to just keep them on a leash, give them $500 billion at a time and let's see what they can do with that first... then maybe $1 trillion the next time if we are happy with what we got. But you and Democrats don't like that idea, do you?
I don't think you will get the $7 trillion, but it's so much money that I am almost worried that people will die as they cram this down our nations throats.. just like your shitty healthcare / Obamacare that isn't worth shit and doesnt even cover the things people really need like dental and other such preventative necessities. You're just a fool if you think otherwise.

Or better yet, don't give them a single penny and make them start working to pay off everything like they are doing to me and every other small business owner out there!
No point in building up a massive infrastructure if the roads are just going to lead to buildings that collapse!
I'm sure there are probably similar buildings in such disrepar all over the country including New York especially.
That sounds like the best idea to me... I'm fine with the current infrastructure, I can drive coast to coast without issue and my local taxes take care of the rest.
Let them get to work on lowering the debt, no more money. If you ask me they are over exended with too many open lines of credit.

Ofcourse the government pays private contractors to build the roads and bridges. Even the Michigan Department of Transportation doesn't build their own, they take bids from private contractors and award the contract to the best bidder. The alternative would be to have all of those construction workers constantly on the government payroll. Believe me, it's better this way, and cheaper for the taxpayer.
And if you're worried about the amount, don't be... Inflation will make 7 trillion seem like chump change in a few decades.
You mean the interest will make $7 trillion seem like chump change in a few decades?
Because I don't know if you been paying attention but that's all they been doing is spending! And don't forget, the Government want's more money before August or they will go broke too!
I think the only chump here is you... Our GDP was only 21.43 Trillion in 2019! And that was during an ALL OUT BOOM - Pre-COVID!

How many trillions-of-dollars go missing in your annual DoD budget, that only seems to grow every year as much as the unaccounted money within it ?
It doesn't matter who's elected into power, they are only puppets, & play the TV screen-play set out for them.
Nelson Rockefeller divided, & for now, conquered the US-of-A's government back in the 1950's & 60's.

Seems more like the 25 year old Megan Marshack fucked the 70 year old Nelson Rockefeller to death from the obituary on Wiki.
Is that not the way of it?
And for the record, that's totally commendable. That's kinda how I wanna go myself.

LOL !!! But confusedt...
Do you want to go by ****ing your county over, or by ****ing Megan Marshack ?....

I'd like to know how you think he divided and conquered the Government when he ran for President and failed three times, then became someones pick for Vice-President.
I skimmed thru his wiki and found nothing interesting outside of his 70 year old ass being able to hook up with a 25 y/o.

This is basically where he managed to divide the gov't into effectively 2-partisions. There's the bollox TV-screenplay one that gets voted in, & has absolutely no access to the above Top Secret compartment operations that go on, known as USAP's. ( Unacknowledged Special Access Programs ).
Here you go mate, once you've watched Sirius, you can check this-one-out. There's just too much back-story to cover for me to type out I'm sorry, that's why Dr.Greer needs 2-hrs to reveal it to you :) !

I get in my movie watching moods and it's good to see some new stuff to watch... plus I recently canceled my Netflix susbscription because they were supporting the paupers of Frogmoore.
All that said, if you had to hazard a guess, which family is worse - the Rockefeller's or the Rothschild's?

That "is" a tough question...I'd say that they're both about equal...And that you could probably find them both funding the Bohemian Grove "get togethers" LOL !
They both circle each other don't they...One has all the money, & the other protects it.
That said, no doubt there are "good" family members, not everyone is evil, only the ones running things at the moment it seems, with continued lies & smokescreens...
I wonder if Mr. Silverstein owned this condo that collapsed ?...

One thing we can be sure of, Rastus, is that if Mr. Silverstein did own this building it was insured for tripple the value!
Sadly though they have given up on surviors quite a long time ago and even blew up the rest of the building on the 4th of July... They were working against the clock because of recent hurricane activity.
The death toll keeps climbing but I worry they are going to find far more people than what they had figured, which at the start was estimated to be between 150-160 people un-accounted for.
What if it comes to pass that they find 300 bodies? I would imagine they pack them in like sardines with a zip code like Miami... they are even referring to it as "Surfside" because let's face it, saying Miami will just hurt tourism.
That is why I am almost positive if they found 300 bodies they would never let that out, because in addition to recent work on the roof that added weight, being several hundred people over capacity would also be MORE weight.
This is one time I hope I'm wrong, but given the size of that building and it's location I'd imagine a lot more people were staying in apartments than were probably listed on the lease. You got to figure these people probably have family over to enjoy Miami, plus there are always the stray family that need a place to crash for awhile during hardship, which there has been a LOT of hardship going on during COVID.

If any good was to come out of this it would be to honor the people who died in this devastating tragedy by ensuring it never happens again!
I have not heard anything new recently, but I am very interested to know what they find as the main cause! Anyone heard anything?
You have to wonder what kind of state a LOT of buildings are in right now with the country literally being shut down for so long! A lot of building owners who can't even legally collect from their tenants probably don't even have the money needed to make repairs, even if they wanted to anyway! That is the sad part! I am sure the banks and lenders treat the smaller building owners just as poorly as they do small business, which is to say they just give their pals like Epstein and Goldman the kind of money needed to keep up a building... the rest they want to fail so they can come in and buy it for cheap, then knock it down for one of their pals to borrow some more money to build something else.
I don't doubt there are a lot of other buildings out there right now that have similar issues, especially in New York and other coastal cities, and probably many more in Miami! I have been hearing some reports that they have actually emptied out another building in Miami that has similar issues, makes you wonder how a lot of these older buildings are really doing? 40 years is really not old for such a big building! We have many that date back way farther than that here in Detroit and I am sure some are even older in New York!
