Liberals once again trying to use tragedy to strip Americans of their right to bear arms!

I just don't think they realize how fucking stupid they sound every time someone commits a massive crime against people who are unarmed... and we see this time and time again! An armed maniac will almost always seek out places where it's highly unlikely that a majority of the people will be armed! They go to schools and churches to carry out their rampage because they take comfort in knowing that a majority of the people in these places will be unarmed and unable to fight back. But yet these liberal hacks just don't get it! They run around suggesting that guns be banned, because if nobody had guns then people would no longer commit these mass murders, right? WRONG!

May I remind everyone that the maniac that carried out this massacre was also taken out of play by someone with a "GUN"... As sad and painful as this news is, it's not a pass for idiot liberals to try and advocate for a ban on guns. If they don't want to own a gun that's fine, but when they start trying to ensure nobody else can, that is when they have crossed the line! The 2nd Amendment is the 2nd Amendment! If you don't like it, MOVE!

The liberals can just stick to killing poor innocent and defenseless kids in the womb by way of abortion! May I remind them that NO AMENDMENT gives them the right to an abortion... but abortion is just a fancy word that was made to hide the fact that it's basically legal murder.

It's a real shame what happened to them kids and a few teachers in Texas... My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the people that lost loved ones as they are the ones who have really lost something in this tragedy! But liberals don't care, they use these types of things to push their sick agenda. They really could care less, other than the oppertunity to advance their agenda... and that is the truth folks!

So when you see some selfish liberal fuckstick advocating for gun control in the name of 19 dead children, just know they are more dangerous than any GUN! We all know what happens when a country dis-arms... take Ukraine for example! They gave all their nukes to Russia and look what has happend! Of course the rest of the world didn't care because one less nation with nukes is one less nation to have to worry about, right? Until Russia kicked down their door and started killing their people and raping their women.

It's just a shame that we all can't come together in a tragedy like this and agree that the problem was with the sick individual who carried out the attacks! And if they didn't have a gun they would have just found another way to do it. There is no "silver bullet" for situations like this, although I wonder why the kid wasn't taken out after crashing his truck in a ditch and shooting at police officers before he even entered the school. I'd like to know more about that.

Who's suggesting guns be banned? I've heard calls for certain types of guns to be banned, but nothing that would infringe on a person's ability to hunt or protect their home. I've also heard calls for eliminating the gun show loophole, eliminating "ghost guns" and things like that which I'd be ok with.

I own guns, and it doesn't seem like there's any mainstream support among the Democrats for banning anything I have.

There are a lot of Liberals saying this...

Biden himself has not said anything about a BAN outright, but he is moving in that direction by saying "We must take action"... the fact that whatever "action" he is talking about is omitted is leaving a lot of people to fill in the blank themselves.

I can't be the only one who wants to know "What action" is going to be taken... perhaps President Biden needs to be more clear about his thoughts before people who started to trust him are pushed back into the arms of Donald J. Trump.

I'm just saying. You have made some clear examples of what "action" you would support, but you're not the President at the moment...

In this case, what would ANY of the things you have listed above have stopped what happend in Texas? IIRC both rifles were purchased legally upon the maniac kids 18th birthday.

So I have to ask, what are liberals REALLY looking to do here? Ban rifles? Raise the age to purchase rifles?

You say you're okay with banning certian types of guns (WTF?) and also eleminating gun show loopholes and "ghost guns"... but what would ANY of that have done to stop this tragedy? Absolutly nothing!

So I'll ask once more... What kind of "action" is the President talking about? I understand he is the President and has to comfort the nation after this tragedy, but I just don't know if leaving it up for interpretation was the best way... I'm not feeling very comfortable after his speech and everything I have seen on the internet from the Pagan Liberals Network.

I don't know what action he is talking about. Perhaps we should temper our outrage until he clarifies it.

You're right though, the low hanging fruit policy changes I'm ok with probably wouldn't have prevented this one at all. Perhaps the "action" Biden suggests is an actual debate in Congress about what policy changes could be made that actually would prevent it without infringing on the rights of sane people. Though I'm sure even the debate would be blocked by people who are well funded by the NRA. So that's a problem too, and I don't just mean the NRA, but the fact the conservative majority on the Supreme Court believes it's ok for politicians to take bribes from special intersts generally.

I don't know, perhaps buying a gun should be as unpleasant as getting an abortion... A person should have to go to the 1 place in the state where they are provided. Have a mental health evaluation. Have a probe stuck up their butt just because. Watch an educational video about gun carnage. Prove they have the consent of their spouse. And have a few day waiting period, just like some states require for an abortion.

Or perhaps owning a gun could be as regulated as driving a car... Perhaps guns should have anual registration renewals, the person should demonstrate competence by a written and hands on test to prove their ability to safely operate it, and should be required to have liability insurance. I mean, the only place the word "regulation" is even mentioned in the Consititution is in the 2nd ammendment, perhaps they should be more regulated than cars?

Just some thoughts.

I think most people are just still in shock... that someone could do such a thing.

I don't think making a gun purchase should be made any more difficult than what it is... at least for law abiding Americans. Getting a CCW here in this state is a real process, one that is backed up nearly a year due to staff shortages! I think that is an example of how sometimes regulation is more like a form of discouragement. Many states there are no permits needed for carrying concealed. One check at the time of purchase is about all you need, perhaps some online instruction... but almost ONE YEAR to get a permit is pretty crazy, even if that is the result of a pandemic, it's something that nobody would have imagined at the time laws were made.

I also get the impression Roe V Wade is feathering into this whole discussion about gun control... and it's a complex issue for me considering I don't support late term abortion, but in the case of this kid shooter from Texas I'd say I'd make and exception and agree that he should have been aborted, regardless the stage!

Yo...

Something has to be done here...

At the rate the US-of-A is going with a school-shooting every other month, you won't have a population in a few years...

Interesting how the news services never ever tell you "why" this happened.

Say what?

Biden calls 9mm high-caliber weapons, suggests banning them

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-9mm-guns-texas-uvalde-mass-shooting

Perhaps this is just a "metric" issue? While good old American standards like .40 caliber will be okay?

Didn't you say something about having a 9MM PowerStroker? You were saying? Something about not banning anything you have?

What do you think about (1st) calling a 9mm a high caliber, and (2nd) Banning them? And finally, I always thought the .22 was the worst to get shot with because it ricochets in the body? Someone in the article above was saying they could save people with smaller .22 bullets lodged in their body, easier than ones with 9mm rounds.  confuse

I guess we need to know what they are being shot out of... a derringer or a rifle... because if a .22 is shot out of a rifle it will have a lot more velocity...

If you ask me it's just a big gun grab... makes no sense except once again the law abiding people who own guns are being punished because of someone else.

The real issue here is that there appears to be a certain age-group of young-people who "flip-out", & take action against their own folks in schools using guns, with the obvious results.

Tricky to fix this social / mental issue if at all possible, but worse would be to be a parent of one of these shooters, & knowing that your-own weapon was used in an incident.

Once-upon-a-time you could change the TV station on a tele, & help guide what your kids watch / take-in, & what they don't. With today's internet & social media platforms, it's these folks that are "Painting the picture" in your kids minds-eye.

I have a 9mm handgun, and IF President biden acutally proposes legislation to ban it, I would be opposed.

At present all we have is a quote from Fox of dubious context, so I'm keeping my powder dry for now. My guess is that even if he was quoted accurately, he actually meant high capacity but said caliber by mistake. Which is why I'm not taking the bait. I have no problem with banning high capacity magazines which is probably what he meant.

You all need to keep in mind that Biden is old and gaffe prone. That, plus the fact that right wing media is just waiting for him to misspeak on this issue is a recipie to get people worked up over nothing. Ya'll need to be smarter than that.

I'm not so sure Rastus... you make good points but at the same time I grew up with Looney Tunes and some movies that really explored the darker realms of the mind. Even moreso in the music as you can attest to yourself in the Gangster of Love thread! LOL

But you're right about the internet element... while Hollywood and Network TV were shaping our minds, much like social media does today with kids, at least we had someone looking over the content and trying to ensure a message or lesson was learned, be it good or bad... now days you can get any old 18 year old on TikTok who's only purpose is to make you hurt yourself, or make a complete clown out of yourself on camera. There is no quality of content, no lessons to be learned outside of obvious ones that you don't eat Tide Pods, or do stupid challanges that are designed to hurt or even kill you for a few views! It is more immersive Rastus, and I will agree with you on the whole that the internet, more so these "platforms", be it social media, online gaming and soon VR... it's not going away and it's just getting embeded deeper and deeper as each decade passes.

This kid was evil... to walk into a school and start shooting innocent people he didn't even know? This kid wasn't right, and I don't think his Mom is either! I read somewhere she said "I'm sure he had his reasons"... WTF! What fucking reasons justify such a cowardly act? I think in the end we can blame the kid, but better parenting would have gone a long way. I think his Moms got some splaining to do! What REASONS could he have had that she justifies in her mind that it was okay for her lunitic son to kill 21 people? I don't think the press should stop until she gives us an answer! Because everyone trying to blame guns, media, internet, social media platforms --- but she knows! Something stinks!
