I'm thinking somebody tampered with all of them and installed explosives in them before they were sold to consumers.

Could be... however these new syle batteries can be highly explosive! Reports coming in that the pagers were warming up and getting real hot. If it were a charge such a C4 or something it wouldn't need to get warm and would be instant. It will be interesting to learn what brand and other details like exactly how it was done, because I am sure the batteries in these newer phones are much-much bigger and more powerful than what were probably in the beepers!

With regards to my phone in my front pocket -- well it's pretty large so it doesn't fit in many pockets and the ones that it does tends to cause my pants to fall off my ass... also I try and use speakerphone whenever possible. The scary part about cell phones is they have cameras and a lot of tech to be able to tell when it's in a prime location to cause maximum damage. Hell, my iPhone tracks how many steps I make a day... how it's being held, what kind of lighting -- all kinds of things behind the scene.

I'm not having much luck reproducing now days in my late 40's PowerStroker -- try as I may in the WebCrawlers thread. I don't know why you'd say that, considering my offspring seem to be doing pretty good... although one could argue my taste in women (at least the ones I'd reproduce with) is currently chock full of Democrat women with minor to major mental issues. I keep telling myself it's just my way of ensuring that I don't have any more kids -- without having to clip a nut.

Seems like rock and movie stars are all knocking up chicks in their late teens and early 20's...

I'm not a rock or movie star -- I should be safe from that really young feral stuff that you can knock up just by looking at them long enough. The chicks on my radar are all in their late 30's!

It looks like it was an Israeli intelligence operation against Hezbollah. I don't like this tactic, too indiscriminate and caused some kids to be killed.

Well... they are at war! And that is what happens in war, people die -- indiscriminately once a war gets serious. Could happen on a global scale in a town near you!

I think it's natural to assume it was Israel who did it, but we don't yet have proof of that.

What we have proof of is the fact that small simple electronics such as a pager can be used as remote bombs now. Hearing chatter that the explosions were the result of surging the batteries. That is pretty spooky considering everything is wired now days! Your washing machines and refrigerators are also wired now too! Not to mention most of us carry cell phones with very large and volitile batteries. I was watching this video on Twitter where people were using massive hydraulic presses to crush things -- one of them being a cell phone and it exploded pretty violently!

Israel has the ability to target much more carefully, they should. This injured thousands of people, the vast majority of which were civilians. This level of collateral damage is unacceptable. Much better to send a guided missile into their headquarters, that way, if any civilians do get caught up in it, it's their own damn fault for being that close to Hezbollah. This is guerilla style warfare against anything that moves. If Israel wants to claim the moral high ground, they need to do better than this.

What are you talking about? The people issued the pagers were Hezbollah!

Do you really think anyone cares about the children in the throes of actual WAR? In Gaza they literally set up their bases in schools and places with high concentrations of children so when they are taken out they can cry that children were killed!

You think an atomic or nuclear bomb cares about any man, woman or child?

Let me tell you something PowerStroker, all it's going to take is a single sucessful attack inside the United States to set of WWIII... Doesn't matter who does it -- Iran, Russia, North Korea, China, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, or even the Democrats in a pathetic attempt to stay in power!

Once that happens, nobody is going to listen to any liberal bleeding heart BS you keep shoveling! And what do Democrats care about children? They are more than happy to kill them up to the ninth month and beyond! Just suck them little kiddos out of there with a vacuum!

I guess a lot of news outlets like "Reuters" (left wing) are saying the pagers were purchased from a company in Hungary which is a Taiwanese off-shoot authorized to re-sell it's products... it's also being said that the pagers were fitted with explosives, however that may just be something they are saying to avoid panic with regards to everyone having battery powered cell-phones and cars...

In addition to the exploding pagers yesterday, there are reports of exploding walkie-talkies today -- where 9 more people have been killed. No word on how these walkie-talkies were modified to explode as of yet.

While on the surface it would look like Israel is behind the opperation, one cannot discount the fact that other players may have been involved to "stoke the flames"...

One thing is for sure, it's getting more dangerous by the day! There is also talk about Biden allowing Ukraine to use long range rockets to strike deep into Russia and some outlets are reporting that Putin plans to test a nuclear bomb in the near future (this is just chatter on the internet and I do not have any solid news-desk links to support it)

It's being said that a lot more than just pagers and walkie-talkies have been blowing up!

Apparently solar panels, intercoms, electric scooters/cars, and certian batteries are also blowing up!

Lithium is pretty volatile stuff! It's not a streach of the imagination to realize that anything with a lithium battery may be vulnerable to remote detonation!

I have a pretty good idea how this could be done, and in the simplest terms it would be more or less short circuiting the cell... imagine if you will, placing a solid steel bar across a fully charged car batteries positive and negative terminal! And then imagine that 10 or 100X more volatile due to the presence of Lithium!

Only time will tell I suppose...

But I'd imagine if Israel is able to modify them at a level that nobody noticed, the Chiniese would be able to the same but at a greater degree... especially since most of the electronics and such are assembled and made there.

Maybe this has something to do with why Chinese 5G Huawei was blacklisted in the USA?
