I went to have my brakes done at a local repair shop and I got an estimate of over $1000!
The brakes have been fine however they started to grind when I would come to a stop. I took the car in right away but now they are trying to sell me 4 new rotors and 4 new calipers just becuase one side has ground what they call metal to metal. I told them I was only interested in doing the one side however they insist that I replace the whole shot! Does this sound right?
Its a good idea to do both sides at the same time. If you INSIST that they only replace the one side they must do so by law. They might not have the best additude but the only thing they can do is refuse to do any of the repairs.
Without seeing the vehicle myself I cant say one way or the other. Hope you were able to get it worked out.

Hope that helps. What kind of prices is everyone else seing out there?
Holy shit! What a rip off! I can personally, all by myself, change pads, rotors and bleed the lines in less than 2 hours! That is, with a pressure or vacuum bleeder.... Your prices suck!
