BEWARE OF TAGGED.COM E-MAILS!

Just a week ago I recived an e-mail from one of my Mercedes-Benz customers in Florida (An attorney no less). The email come from a web site by the name of Tagged.com and stated that my customer had sent me some photos and requested that I click on a link to view the photos.

Since I NEVER click on any links in an e-mail, even if sent from friends or family, I sent an e-mail to my customer asking if he had sent me any photos. I did not get any resoponce and for the past week I was curious if maybe he was looking for some more Mercedes parts. Even then I did not click on the link.

To my supprise I read an article on TIME about this TAGGED.COM web site, and if you read it, you will be shocked also!

Seems this website TAGGED.COM sends out e-mails to all of your contacts stating that you have sent them a photo. This scam tries to get people to join the service and repeat the sending of spam to all of YOUR contacts.

If you get an e-mail from TAGGED.COM, DO NOT OPEN IT OR CLICK ON ANY LINKS WITHOUT FIRST CHECKING WITH THE SENDER! EVEN THEN BEWARE.

Here is the link to the story

Amazing how these companies are getting away with these sorts of things. Here we have all this high-tech stuff and people are still getting taken!

I think the error was intentional, and that Tagged.com was well aware this kind of thing would happen and draw in some attention from not only the people scammed, but also the media. The old saying that "No adverisement is bad advertisement" was obviously utilized when making the decision to trick people into using the service. Its very important to read the entire story above to get a feel for what they are doing. Even if they claim there was an error that could be mis-understood by people, there is no excuse for the fact that they use peoples names, stating they have photos to be viewed. I think Tagged.com should get tagged!
