The dealer is always the best place to bring your vehicle for service. They have the special tools, manuals, and factory trained technicians who are most fluent in your vehicle. It is always better to have a "master of one"-rather than a "jack of all" work on your vehicle. But don't take my word for it, just ask the previous owner of Rex's truck.
It's very rare even at a dealer to break a thousand bucks on a brake job... Maybe if it needs a 4 wheel with new rotors all around and brake lines replaced. At least for the premium someone pays a dealer to do the work they're not stuck with some backyard mechanic slaping shoes in their vehicle in the rainy parking lot of his "shop" (storage locker)
