I am sure this will please many first time home buyers that got a $5000 check in the mail from Uncle Sam! I know a guy who purchased a home in 2008 and was bragging last year about the credit. Wonder if he will be bragging when he has to re-pay it!?

Those who purchased their home in 2008 yet claimed the credit in 2009 only qualified for a no-interest loan.

In the past two years, the homebuyer tax credit has helped persuade millions of families to take the plunge and buy a home.  

Too bad about half of those who claimed the credit in 2009 are going to have to pay it back.
