I plan on spending a good amount of time tonight studying the balot for tomorrows election. It never fails every time I go there the non-partisan balot presents somewhat of a challange.
Also worthy of note is the kids get tomorrow off school, which to me seems like it would hinder my ability to vote more than help it. Then again all elections are held at schools around here, and I am going to put the kid to work in the garage tonight.
I'm leaning twards a certian party, can anyone guess who?

Congratulations on taking the House of Representatives. I hope maybe this decade your party can pass some pro-working class legislation with your new found power.
Well thanks PowerStroker... I wish we would have bagged the Senate also, but if Obama gets kicked to the curb in 2012 I'll be more than happy to wait for the Senate to be bagged in the 2014 mid-terms.

The problem your side has now is finding a candidate to run against Obama in 2012 that will appeal to the tea party fanatics on the far right without scaring away moderates. You guys lost the Nevada senate race by getting too trigger happy, but then again, McCain lost his presidential bid because he tried to be too mainstream and the right wing extreme didn't support him.
It must suck sometimes being a small tent party huh?
Romney is looking good, but I am still very untrusting given his roll in their manditory insurance while in power in Mass.
In all honesty I think he will end up being the front man. He ran a very good campaign, and even showed loyalty to the party for stepping aside for McCain. His advertisements were funny yet informative and very competative. His only drawbacks to me are his involvement in the Mass. Healthcare mandate, and the fact that some old timers around here claim his family has been involved in Michigan politics to their disliking. Given the fact this is traditionally a Blue state, this might be a lot to do about nothing. I would check these things closer before fully endorcing him.
With regards to Obama, well there is just too much controvercy surrounding him. His birth certificate, sealed files, corruption in his home states government, and the fact it seems like he has been working for other nations and people the last two years on our dime and I think he would be a poor choice for Democrats when primaries come around.
I do see a serious threat should Hillary Clinton run for president. Even if her husband has been a cheating dog with a silver toung, she has proven to be loyal to the Democratic base, Her husband even at the darkest hour, she has been very involved with foreign policy the past two years and has no real black marks outside of her husband. Some of the things that worry me about her is the fact she could crack at any moment. She's like a soccer mom on steriods, could she crack under the pressure? Another thing is her husband, Slick Willy, who would no doubt know all the back doors in Washington to mop up behind her to be back in the game.
I don't know. It's still pretty damn tuff out there. Obama's got a lot of image work and economy turning around if he is ever to be worthy of my vote.

There is no way Hillary, or any other self respecting Democrat would do a primary challenge against President Obama. The only threat of a primary challenge would be from the far left like Ralph Nader, but I don't think the rank and file voters will make that mistake again.
