Actually the credit rating thing was a direct result of Republicans deciding to play politics with the debt limit - not Democrats.

Had Obama not turned up his nose on the "Cut, Cap and Balance" deal then MAYBE you would have a point. As it stands he put his campaign efforts before the American people by trying to raise the debt ceiling to last thru the 2012 elections.

Sorry to break this to you and all the Democrats, but the credit downgrade was a result of Obama and the Democrats. Obama swore he would vito Cut, Cap and Balance if it cleared the Senate. So since CC&B was shot down by the Senate it's fair to say it was the Democrats who are responsible.

Obama wanted a blank check.... Well he didn't get it, and he took the nations credit rating down trying. What he did get however proved to be the LARGEST increase in our Debt ceiling in history, so large in fact that even the markets and rating agencies took notice! I share equal disdain with the markets, and even more for the rating agencies which gave bad paper AAA ratings and allowed consumers to borrow more than they could ever possibly repay. Yes we must address and hold accountable these agencies however that will do nothing to fix the bad decisions being made by Obama and the Democrats that will serve nothing more than to put America further in debt just like what happened to homeowners who were overextended, only this time it's our nation that is being allowed to over-extend itself.

Cut Cap and Balance wasn't a compromise, it was a Republican wet dream that would never hapen anyway.

Why is it that all the previous presidents got clean legislation to raise the debt limit, but the Republicans are trying to attach toxic legislation to anythinng that reaches Obama's desk?

When you answer that question^^^ you will have an understanding as to exactly which party is responsible for the downgrade.

Yeah I guess getting a budget deal that would bring America's finacnial footing back would be a "wet dream" while the Democrats are in office.

Spare me PowerStroker.... I guess to you and your jackass buddies the credit rating downgrade that happened on Obama's watch was Bush's fault, even though Bush has been out of office for almost 3 years.

Just because Bush has been out of office for 3 years doesn't mean his policies aren't still causing us problems. He did rack up 5 trillion in adidtional debt, it takes a lot longer than 3 years to turn that ship around.

Obama racked up 5+ trillion in not even 3 years! Had the American public not taken away the purse from the Democrats he could have very well run up twice that!

But I understand your ilk PowerStroker, you would allow the nation to be run into the ground before admitting that your party was un-fit to perform. It's a damn good thing MOST Americans know otherwise.
