Hey PowerStroker, another question for you: You didn't happen to know any coaches at Penn State back in the day did you... ? And I take it you didn't grow up Catholic ?!?
I love the 7.3 Powerstroke - It's reliable, and has gobs of torque.
The 6.0 makes even more power, but can get a bit expensive to keep running. They run sweet when everything is right with them though.
The antique 6.9 and early 7.3 indirect injected with mechanical injection pumps were certainly more reliable than anything GM was putting out in that era, but I wouldn't want one. I actually cringe whenever one of those old bones rolls in the door. Though they rarely break down, when they do, the repair cost will exceed the value of the vehicle. If you're getting something that old, you'd be much better off with a gas engine.
I'd tell you to pull yourself up by your bootstraps and get a real job at a dealer, but I realize you wouldn't make it at a dealer tech. Though we could use someone like you in the oil change lane.
Who the hell wants to be a parts changing dealership monkey?
I worked on two 1997's, a 1989 and a 1998 model year today's PowerStroker. One Chevrolet, One Mercedes Benz, and two Chrysler's...
I can feel PowerStroker cringing as we speak! Meanwhile PowerStroker pays big unions to negotiate for him because he is incapable of doing so himself.
How can you make a statement about pulling ones self up by the bootstraps when YOU work for the man? Try being self employed... Oh that sounds like work doesn't it? Better stick to your 9 to 5 pace.
I wonder how bad that taste?

Is that a fact PowerStroker? The only way to know would be to compare debt to income ratios.
If you are owe $30,000.00 and I came in at straight ZERO, I win.
You see PowerStroker we are living in the now, will your pension and social security out perform my CREW of workers 1/8th your age?
If you took all the money you had in the world right now, and then deducted that from how much you owe, how much would that number be? You can just answer positive or negative if you wish.
Whatever you think your assets are worth in terms of MSRP be sure to half that because you will in essence be cooking your own books if you think the market would pay anything close to MSRP on something used and or underwater.
