Been seeing more and more reports, both online and first hand; of complaints with regards to URO brands rubber hose/tubing for the V8 W126 Mercedes. These rumors are not just chatter, it's a FACT that the URO brand injection tubing does not hold up and in many cases will crack just trying to install it!
What I find seriously strange about all this is the simple fact many of the URO injection tubes are even branded with "Mercedes Benz" and the even the part number! To the untrained eye you would almost think this stuff was authentic genuine Mercedes-Benz equipment.
While I am just speculating, I think whoever copied these injection hoses and elbows did not account for the fact raw fuel would be present. Since the injection system is connected at the base of the injector, downstream of the "cold start injector" it would seem to me the compound is inferior. Heck, using the term inferior is being too nice, it's plain old garbage! You can spot these URO knock-off's two ways... By feel, or by sight. If you have ever felt fresh brand new Mercedes Benz injection tubing and or elbows you would be able to distinguish the two. The other way is that the URO brand are usually not a deep black color.
Take for example these URO tubes removed from a customers vehicle,
On the other hand, URO makes some nice aftermarket headlight doors... However they are within dollars of the OEM Bosch units depending on where you go. If URO made SEC headlight doors I am sure they would sell a bunch as currently they are on the pricey side.
But that's the good and the bad... Kind of brings new meaning to the term "URO-Trash".
