And again this Easter 2018, Google did NOTHING for Easter! No egg, no bunny... NOTHING!

Others are starting to take notice too!

18th year in a row!!

I been using Yahoo since back in the 1990's...

I find Yahoo to be a left leaning organization, although I would be interested to know what side of the isle Verizon hangs most, if anyone knows..

I guess I didn't notice the Google thing. Do they typically recognize the holidays of other major religions? If so, then they should probably apply the same standard and recognize Easter too. If not, then I don't have an issue.

I used google search enough to know they celebrate a lot of other holidays, such as St. Patricks day where they clover out the google logo...

Any company that can go thru the trouble of decorating for any other holidays yet leave out Easter and Christmas every single year has some issues...

I could care less about the views of Google, as a customer I want to see at least an Easter Egg, Rabbit or something denoting the special day that it is!

The fact they refuse to honor a large potion of their customers faith is VERY telling and as such, I try to use them as little as possible... I don't dare give them any

money! I don't buy their Android phones, There Alexa or whatever it's called, I don't use their Gmail or any of that other nonsense...

I do however use the YouTube and the Google search facilities, but only as a non-paying "free" user account.

I guess my question should have been do they honor the RELIGIOUS holidays of other religions and leave Christianity out, or do they not do any religious holidays?

I will have to do a little more looking into it, however I know Google is constantly celebrating holidays and specific people it deems worthy of celebrating.

Don't you think Jesus Christ is worthy of a symbol on his Birthday? Or do you feel Caesar Chavez is more worthy of mention on Easter? Honestly...

I like Jesus, and I completely understand if a company that serves people of all religions chooses not endorse any. The U.S. government is the same way, or at least it's supposed to be.

 Yo,

R1. Nothing wrong with that IMO. Maybe they'll like Mr.Trump at some stage...

R2. His birthday is Christmas...Apparently Easter is all about his crucifixion...But he did apparently rise again from the dead after 3-days...Others might say that Easter is actually a Pagan celebration where ( in the northern hemisphere ) the daylight hours become longer than the night-time hours...So the Sun-of-God, overpowers the darkness of night...

R3. Mr.Chavez rightfully, & unselfishly, gave his countries land & resources back to the sovereignty of its people....( Not to mention educating them about their civil rights, & lifting them all out of dire poverty ( where possible)). That's has to be true leadership, & arguably the greatest gift any politician could give to the people.

Just my $00:02 lol,

Rastus

I thought Good Friday was the crucifixion, and Easter was when he rose from the dead?

 Yo,

That's quite correct, I was only speaking in a general sense !

It's also been suggested that Christmas is really when the Sun-of-God rises from the dead...To elaborate a little, at approximately the 22nd of December, in the northern hemisphere, the sun appears to not move any noticeable amount, ( the winter solstice ), but around the 25th of December, ( 3-days later ), a noticeable movement of 1-degree was recognized, & hence the term, the Sun-of-God rose from the dead. Also at this time, the Sun rises directly below the constellation of the Southern Cross. This is where it's suggested that the Sun-of-God died on the cross, only to rise again 3-days later.

Our "masters" decided to move this reality to the spring equinox, & leave Christmas as the birth of the Christ Jesus.

There are a great many religions, both past & present that utilize a virgin birth, & similar stories to Jesus & Christianity. The Old Testament is basically the same as the Jewish faith, & their Kaballah(?)...The differences arise with the New Testament.

Cheers,

Rastus

I'm still waiting for the answer as to whether they do something for other religious holidays and leave Christianity out, or if they apply the same standard to all religions???

BTW, happy Easter guys!

It's about respect for your customers PowerStroker!

Jewish founder, Larry Page - who is a Michigan native out of Lansing who claims to have no religion, does not seem to care much for Christmas or Easter... His partner Sergey Brin who was born in Russia, to Russian/Jewish parents, is of the same mentality.

Google is free to do as it wishes, I am not saying that they should be required to make any mention of any religion or holidays but they do pay homage to the popular Jewish holidays right on their main page. They don't for Easter because the Jews do not believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead on Easter... And it was a Jew who ordered Jesus Christ to be crucified.

So, for obvious reasons I try to limit anything I do on Google to include only FREE services! I will not buy Android phones, no Google subscriptions and I avoid giving them ANY of my money. I use them regularly for their free search engine but even still I have noticed their results are starting to really lack in quality and are often nothing more than a page full of advertisements with the quality content often times completely omitted or buried so deep no one would find it! Then there have been many reports of them arbitrarily blocking sites without any real care for the freedoms that made the internet great! And let us not forget about the time Google made a special socialist version of Google for the Chinese market where the government could censor out sites, topics and post deemed not in the national interest!

With that said, who could really trust Google!? That is not a business I am willing to trust or give money to! Yet they are so large, much like Amazon and other companies that almost seem to be gigantic tax havens for foreign investment while they enjoy the freedoms that Christians built this nation on.

Actually it was under Obama that Google made this dark Communistic search engine for China.

And if I am not mistaken Obama renewed the patriot act too..\

Obama also tried to say this wasn't a Christian nation also, but it was founded by Christians!
