Well it's like this... We been told time and again how GREAT Digital is... From Cell Phones, home phones and now most recently TV it would just seem everyone bought into it. Only there is one problem!
DIGITAL SEEMS TO SUCK!
Take for instance, your now Digital TV signal that requires a converter box. I can only see this as a way for big business and government to identify what we are watch and when, but that's not the end! Often times with digital you get crappy signal. Everyone knows what the heck I am talking about... Lags in the broadcast of whatever you are watching that all of a sudden makes the picture look grainy or otherwise just square blocks fading in and out! WTF is that? We pay for that shit? To be spied on and get shitty quality!? Now we got HDTV and such, which is only to say if you have a newer TV set your going to spend an extra $20-$50 a month for a higher quality picture. But even then you still get the lags and garbled picture. That was NEVER and issue with analog TV stations, but that what we must pay for now.
And how about traditional land line analog telephones? These are usually hands down the sharpest and best quality telephone service out there... Except it would seem AT&T and many others are no longer servicing their analog two wire traditional telephone lines. They let them go to waste in an effort to push people into a VOIP (Voice over IP) which is DIGITAL but often times lacks the clarity and reliability of traditional phone lines. Often times on VIOP and cellular you get some cutting out, or dropped calls, not to mention your occasional echo. This was NEVER the case with traditional phone lines.
Recently I had problems with static in my traditional analog land line. I called AT&T to fix it only to be told I would have to wait over a week for a repair person to fix it! The static was so bad often times people could not call in, and if you called out the static was so bad you could not hear what the person on the other end of the line was saying. Talked with a few people on my block to find out they have all had the same problems and the solution they are told is to switch to Digital. I think it's outright bullshit! The whole idea that Phone and TV providers are giving us less quality and it's costing us MORE money!

These are the times, & yes, we're all being screwed by being forced into a corner with no-way-out, unless we make some changes in our habits / routines. I honestly haven't owned a TV for over 10 years now, with no regrets, ( of course everyone you visit has one turned on, so I still get to see something sometimes, & that only further cements my decision of not having one anyway LOL ) & I mainly made that decision because of the crap viewing content, & even worse commercials. So what do you do about these problems that are posted above ? Well you can't do anything really about the "new-wave" digital TV & the set-boxes that you need to watch it, but you can turn the damned thing off !
As an alternative though, just watch your TV to view DVD's etc. You don't really need it believe me. You'll get more out of reading a good-book & your kids will end-up 10 times smarter by doing the same ! As for the telephone....Yeah well it all sucks, but regretfully these things we do need to have, because they won't be pulling down the telephone-poles to fix them, it will be to remove them ! I guess it's called progress, & sometimes it's for the better, sometimes for the worse...
As for being spied on SELLC, yes it's very true...Just tell them to go & get ****ed !!!
