Just a day in the life of 1994, partying at the 35th District Courthouse parking lot after hours and then later drag racing on Globe Street for $hits and giggles apparently (Because I never got my $20 lol!). The good old days, before cell phones and camera phones and before Fast and Furious, Pinks and all them reality shows. Raw footage. This video is about the closest you're going to get to the old days. I personally converted this video from an old Super 8 camcorder with an old Windows XP box and Sudio 8 software.

That was a great bit of footage, even if 1/2 of it was pitch black ! Both cars sounded awesome !!!
I dare say they'd have cameras mounted on every street-pole along that strip now-days ?...
I do hope that the youth-of-today have some-where to go & have fun, & let off steam / rubber. Your boys would be nearly ready to drive soon hey ? You're going to have some fun teaching them how it's done SELLC.
Cool post,
Rastus

Yeah the first part of the video is pretty dark but I kept it because a lot of friends were in it and I figured they would want to see what they could. I should have had a light but back then you really didn't have everyone standing around with a cell phone flashlight.
The Chevy was pretty much loud as heck because the guy had dumps. It was some good times that's for sure. Really wished I would have had more light. Even still I had to cut the actual video in nearly 1/2 because there was just too much jibber jabber and hanging out. The girl taping the race didn't have much experience with the camera either. Still it was a really cool find and I was very happy to have it, even if it was complete darkness at times.
My oldest son will be driving in October this year and while I haven't given up on the ole' Mercedes 420 convertible dreams he has moved on to more sporty options. He just picked up these two Firebirds, the black one is rusted out on the floor pans and is a parts car for the red one. I'm going to make a new thread about it in the GM forums eventually.
I myself wouldn't mind picking up another Mustang but they really hold their value in this area. I keep trying to convince myself it's midlife crisis and not to get back into a sports car! LOL
Those Firebirds look awesome ! I wouldn't mind one myself LOL. Pontiacs always had "unusual" sizes for their V-8's, what size are these babies ?...Look out if they're over 300-cubes !
Nothing wrong with wanting another Mustang SELLC, it's not mid-life-crisis, it's just a "need-for-speed" delivered with a super torquey American made V-8 LOL !
Looking forward to seeing your son's video's in the next few years LOL !- If he'll give them to you to post that is...
Cheers,
Rastus
