Former Secretary of State John Kerry Is Under Fire!!
Former Secretary of State John Kerry is now getting slammed from multiple angles. The report that claimed he was working with Iran to secure the Obama era Nuclear Deal is not sitting to well with American Patriots.
Former Secretary of State John Kerry is under fire over a report claiming that he has been engaged in shadow diplomacy with officials from Iran and Europe as part of a final attempt to save the seemingly doomed 2015 Iran nuclear deal.
The Boston Globe reported Friday that Kerry sat down twice with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif in recent months to strategize in a bid to save the deal, as part of what the Globe described as an aggressive yet stealthy mission to put pressure on the Trump administration to keep the deal in some form.
Trump faces a May 12 deadline to review the deal, and Kerry has been ramping up his meetings ahead of that deadline. He reportedly met with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier -- who was foreign minister of Germany when the deal was negotiated. He has also met with French President Emmanuel Macron twice and spoken by phone with European Union foreign affairs chief Federica Mogherini.
The Globe reported that Kerry was quiet in his campaign as he believes that a high-profile defense of the deal by prominent Democrats would only make Trump more likely to pull the U.S. out of the deal.
Is anyone going to actually do anything about Kerrys dealings? Or are people just going to get upset and call him bad names? It seems like thats all that ever happens to Democrats these days.
Depending on what was said, it's quite possible that Kerry is in violation of the Logan Act. If we're going to start enforcing it though, I would suggest applying it equally to all violators. Perhaps John Kerry and Michael Flynn can share a cell with Jared Kushner and Michael Cohen?
Now if only Congress would start enforcing the emoluments clause, that would really start to drain the swamp.
I would guess there are not many Democrats who have been given titles of nobility, as per the emoluments clause... however Hillary and Bill were collecting mad cash in their pay for play foundation.
Then there was the Nobel peace prize that Obama accepted, prior to even being on the job for any reasonable amount of time... He accepted that award and maybe in doing so he put foreign policy ahead of Americans because he felt
obligated. Maybe we need to look into that emoluments clause!
In any case, taking the chance breaking laws that have never really been used in the past is a lot like sticking your hand in an alligators mouth... it's probably not a good idea.
