i would really like to know why the hospitals ended the candy striper program??? i was hospitalized often as a kid and these girls were so fun and funny and helpful

to a scared little girls.

In those days the gas station attendant filled up the car and checked all the fluids. I remember smelling the gas fumes - for some reason they smelled good!

I remember them. Remember points, condenser, dwell, plugs, flats all the time. Opening the hood in the middle of an intersection and tapping the carb float to unstick it.

i still to this day love the smell of gas fumes....when i get a whiff!

but hate the smell of exhaust! esp. for diesel.... bleh

oh yeah! that was one of my chores when i visited out on the farm....

I gathered many eggs. Watched some hatch. Always had a pet chicken. Soon learned to always pick a female. Roosters would always start fighting you after about a year.

I remember watching The Little Rascals when I was a kid! Of course by the time I had seen it the show had already been decades re-run! But it was still a good show!

I watch a lot of older shows and I try to imagine how big of an impact the show had on the people back then when TV and the Land Line Telephone were the hottest ticket in town!

When I first started watching TV it was Looney Tunes in the morning

Then there was HBO about 5 years later... and Transformers and the Dukes of Hazard and Night Rider.
