Racist Democrat

Del. Mary Ann Lisanti (D-Harford), who is white, allegedly told a white colleague late last month at an Annapolis cigar bar that campaigning in Prince Georges County on behalf of another candidate amounted to door-knocking in a nigger district, reported The Washington Post.

Just shining the light on this to show not ALL racist belong to the republican party like some here seem to think....

RACISM exists in both parties...

and there are very few racist today...PERIOD...when comparing racist today to racist of the 1960's...

I wish all racism was GONE...

unfortunately it may take another 30 or so years for them to finally die out...

Yo,

It's sadly a "mind-control" issue that's manipulated by the press/media to divide your country to take-a-side...

The more it's used, the less effective the outcome in years to come. ( Though there's plenty of suckers to take-on yet )...

The US-of-A was made great by its multiculturalism, not by its racism.

I think we have niggers of all colors, sizes and sexes...

In fact the definition back in the 1980's was, "an un-educated person".

Then there is also the fact that negro is, I believe Spanish, for black? Perhaps that is what pushed the word over the edge for some?

Negro is not derogatory,  The other is...and I agree the other is not about skin color, but it is still perceived as being directed that way...

I never said negro was a derogatory, I simply said that it's origins in older languages means "black" and I was pondering any possible relevance in the two.

Nigger back in the 1980's was NOT listed in the dictionary as a derogatory, rather the definition was simply "an uneducated person"... then after that it was listed as slang for "a person of color".

I guess since the 1980's they have moved away from slang and gotten more specific with the classification of "derogatory".

The actual definition is someone uneducated...

The problem came in the south it was used to belittle people of color, it was really bad for the first 100 years following the civil war...YES all the way until the passage of civil rights...and it still got used but not as openly after 1964...

You are correct there is nothing about the word that is directly derogatory, but it becomes that, when used to describe a person of color...it started pre-civil war when it was illegal for a person of color to be educated...

The term has ZERO to do with skin color...but there is no escaping it was used as such for a very long time...which is why it is considered derogatory today....
