Can anyone believe this shit? And it's all being stirred up by Nike and Kaepernick! So not only are they racist, they are anti-American!
To be quite honest I have not purchased anything Nike for myself since they made that rediculous commercial, but I had so much Nike stuff before that I am still trying to wear out the last of it because honestly I can't stand to wear the shit anymore! I literally feel like anti-American trash when wearing the last of my Nike sweats - if only because I am going to get my money out of them! To think that Nike is back at it, trying to stir racism and anti-Americanism makes me sick and I think they should have to refund people for the clothing they will ultimately never wear! A stigma tax if you will, because honestly this is BULLSHIT! You just would never expect a for-profit business to do something so ignorant!

I wonder what ole' Bad Robot would have thought about all this! He claimed to run the ole' Betsy Ross up the pole every 4th of July! Yet he could never shake his penchant for Jaguars - lol
Anyone seen Bad Robot in any of the other forums?

I voted no, I don't think the Betsy Ross flag is racist at all and I disagree with those who say it is.
The Confederate battle flag definitely is though - at least now anyway... Which is not to say that I think you guys are necessarily racist, you just may have some racist paraphernalia like my late grandfather who was a WW2 vet and collected relics from both sides for a small museum he had. Within his collection were a few items with swastikas, which were there to show the history of something he fought against. Taken in that context, nobody would ever accuse him of being anything but a patriot. He was a Republican too by the way, and a great man. I like to think much of who I am today was shaped by him.

The confederate flag is NOT racist...
regardless how many times you try and declare it is...The above is now bold for you...that is not the KKK declaring it as racist...that was YOU....
YOU are racist...anyone who believes in white privilege is by definition a racist...

Not me, the KKK / Skinheads / Neo Nazis / Alt Right have claimed it as their symbol now, I'm just happy to let them have it. The hesitation from some here to let them have it worries me though, as I can't see any possible value it would have to anybody.

you probably should be worried...if this comes down to a civil war, your side will lose and lose badly...hell my side has most the guns....lol

You haven't explained why you're so reluctant to let white supremacists adopt the Confederate battle flag as their symbol, does it have deep personal meaning for you or something? Because I have news for you - they already have.
With regard to a hypothetical Civil War II, I'm not overly concerned about it. The people who seem itching to start one seem to just be the riff raff of today, from the same region of the country that started the first one. They lost, and they would lose again because we have more than enough guns too, and it takes more than just guns, it takes an economy that can sustain an expensive fight. With California on our side we can more than afford to fight any battle the deep South could wage... Actually I think I know why you don't want the Confederate battle flag to be adopted by anyone else, perhaps because you're hoping for a Confederacy 2.0 in which you could proudly fly it?

I am more than reluctant...I flat out refuse to allow a small group to revision history...
Civil War is coming...I am sure you realize that the left wing and the right wing are just getting further apart...
There is no hope of compromise between these two sides anymore...
and DEEP DOWN you know it...It is simply a matter of time...
And it is those on the democrat side that are demanding we change our system of government...

I agree, and back when I put confederate flag license plates on my cars/trucks it wasn't considered racist! It was the flag of the "rebel", or a "good ole' boy". The worst part is that as perceptions change about different symbols people in the past are stigmatized for something they didn't even believe in! For gawds sake, they put the confederate flag on the roof of the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazard! This was a family TV show that played with Dynasty and Dallas!
Take for example Nike clothing, when I purchased all of my Nike clothing prior to Kaepernick I had no idea that in just a year them cloths would be worthless because of the stigma now associated with the Nike swoosh symbol being anti-American! It's just fucking crazy!

In the present time, it certainly seems that some folks are digging-up historical occurrences, & twisting the events into bollox, to suit a lack-of innovative present on-goings, & their political needs.
History "is" history, & it's very likely that the "facts" are twisted to suit the outcome by the victors anyhow, as they get the privvy of writing-the-book.

Betsy Ross was a Quaker and an Abolitionist.
What too many want to IGNORE....Not every slave owner was white...
It was white people who ENDED slavery in the United States, that fought and died.
Most the people that fought in the civil war never owned a slave...on both sides....
The war itself was not about slavery....it was about states rights...
Were people racist prior to the civil war...YES were they still racist after the civil war...YES
Were people still racist after the passage of civil rights...YES but the systemic racism that was allowed prior to the passage of civil rights was eliminated...
Claiming the Betsy Ross Flag was a racist SYMBOL is complete IGNORANCE...
It was not JUST the USA....most countries had slaves...in fact the USA was one of the earlier countries to begin the fight against slavery particularly the slave traders...
The USA actually banned slavery in 1797 they just did not know how to free existing slaves, they criminalized importing slaves long before the civil war...
at the same time the USA was one of the last to completely abolish slavery...
Today too many people want to revision the history for a political motive...
There were several centuries of slavery endured.....and slavery was endured by all races...yes democrats there were white slaves as well...

Not sure if I'd be brave enough to wear them out-side though !

Probably because they would have been appreciated more back in 1969, when Apollo 11 might-have landed on the moon, where we might-have had the first moon-walk !...
Seriously though, kids would likely like to wear them & show them off more than myself...In your mid-40's, conservative values & keeping-the-peace sit better with me.

I like them ! But I'd have to grab an "Uncle Sam" suit, tie & top-hat to make it work at my age !

I do believe the Betsy Flag is being used as point-of-racial division & discussion right now, at this time. Though no doubt, it was never the original intention.
At first glance, I laughed & like the sneakers ! But I just don't have anything to wear with them, that's all !
I could see masses of young folks wearing them, & if I was younger I'd likely join-in too.

I think Rastus has a point, that currently Democrats are trying to make the Betsy Ross flag a point of racial division.
At the same time, Americans who are State side know this is absolute bullshit and just another attempt by the left to erase and re-write history to suit their agenda of division.
It's a shame, Rastus! Far back as I can remember the Betsy Ross was displayed mostly on the 4th of July and it's significance was the formation of the United States and nothing to do with slavery or racism!
I honestly believe that Democrats will not be happy until history is stigmatized and rewritten to meet their agenda!
Let me ask everyone this, since slavery was going on when the declaration of independence and the bill of rights was written - does this mean these historically significant documents are also symbols of racism? Because that is what they are trying to say when they stigmatize the Betsy Ross!
