Are they really concerned about global warming?

If there is such a big global push to prevent global warming then why all over the world are we heating up fusion reactors to 120 million degrees celsius?

https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/chinas-artificial-sun-just-smashed-120600151.html

Now I remember back when people were concerned about CERN creating a "black hole" but now it seems every country is doing it.

What is the objective here? What do they expect to find by creating hot spots that burn hotter than the sun? Anyone know?

If nuclear fusion (not fission) could be mastered and implemented broadly, it would solve all of our energy problems. If done before we reach the climate tipping point it could save the planet. Furhtermore, it could be utilized as a power source for super fast space propulsion that would allow Humanity to expand our presense beyond Earth, ultimately saving our species.

I think it's worth funding.

That we actually have proof of concept working prototypes for fusion is truly exciting. It means Humanity has reached the point where our evolution is no longer charted by physical changes to our bodies, but by charting the growth of our knowledge. Though in reality, that transition probably already occourred when we landed a man on the moon only 66 years after the Wright Brothers had a proof of concept for human flight. Or when Einstein published the General Theory of Relativity.

We have indeed emerged into a new era of enlightenment. All that holds our species back now, is conspiracy theories and those who believe them.

I didn't bring it up as an issue I had with funding, as many of these projects are ongoing in other countries. I am sure we are involved in some and maybe even invest some money in others. That is not the point I was trying to make.

I know there is this big disconnect with many when it comes to Fusion and Fission and perhaps that is true with my own personal understanding as well. Fusion seems to also involve splitting atoms too... I don't proclaim to be a nuclear scientist but even with the rosy picture you paint about all the "great" things it can do I doubt that going to the moon, flying the first aircraft and Einstein's General Theory of Relativity could have EVER had the widespread devistation that Fission or Fusion could bring about on a global, even galactic scale!

Were the Chernobyl or Fukushima disasters also conspiracy theories? We are talking about a nuclear reaction here, and what is to say the chambers that are holding this 120 MILLION degree Celsius plasma were to leak or rupture? Is it possible such a combustion hotter than the sun itself could spread like wildfire should it become exposed?

I am glad you feel more than comfortable with the lives of everyone on the planet in the hands of countries like China and other such places, but that's not even the real issue! Even if we were doing this here, and I have heard we have our own Fusion reactors here too, I still worry that perhaps this kind of stuff needs to happen in a lab in outerspace many-many hundreds of miles away from the planet!

This "climate tipping point" is just a bunch of bullshit... really! Back in the days of Pangea when the contentents started breaking up and shifting is an example of such natural evolution that some scientist with an over-inflated ego and a desire for tax payer money would claim to be able to fix. But the truth is they CAN'T! Sure we could give it a hell of a try but the reality is we can no sooner stop the climate from changing than we can stop a tornado, earthquake, volcano or hurricane! That's a fact PowerStroker! Most humans won't even live past 80 years of age, and history is re-writen or lost thru translation thru the centuries... that much we know! We need not look any further back than the Ancient Egyptians for proof of that.

One thing that has ALWAYS been learned the hard way is that you can't put Pandora back in the box once it's been let out! In this case, we don't have another planet to live on if we ignite this one into another Sun! You'll have a bunch of idiot scientist standing around pointing the finger at one another while people like you an I suffer from the carnage of whatever wrath is unleashed. Can you imagine how much power it must take to even bring these sorts of reactors online, even if only for 101 seconds?

I'm all for technical innovation and advancement of knowledge but damn, don't give me any BS about my cars emissions when people are out there making reactors that burn at over 216 Million degrees Fahrenheit! Which by the way is hotter than the Sun that gives this planet life.

I mean how long before the temperature of the Sun is not enough for these guys?

You know a Supernova burns at 100 Billion degrees Celsius, or 180 Billion degrees Fahrenheit...

Why not have our own little Supernova while we're at it?

Oh, that's right... We're still trying to figure out how to contain 216 million degrees Fahrenheit... Gawd help us!

But seriously... You know what happens after a Supernova event right? A black hole!

C'mon guys...

Anything to do with nukes, is military based, so as to assert control over nations via threat-of-use.

We don't need nukes...We have free energy all around us that Nikola Tesla & many others tapped into over 100-years ago, but this technology was suppressed by the bankers, because a meter couldn't be placed on it.

Watch the Dr.Greer movies for ****s-sake !!! And check this out too...I've also posted about the free energy stuff in the UFO thread, & some of it has now been censored, such as Col.Tom Bearden's interview.

Fission is the splitting of atoms, which ends up creating a lot of radioactive waste. Fusion produces even more energy than fission and bonds atoms together into larger atoms. The waste product of fusion is helium.

I know Rastus you are against everything nuclear, and with some historical lessons learned from fission, I can see why. But fusion I think is the golden ticket, if only we can get it beyond the proof of concept stage and actually implement it. Doing so could allow us to retire the fission plants, which I think we both agree would be a good thing.

Nuclear science is the bane of our time...Especially the accumulating waste...The "mad-scientist" side inside everyone ( or perhaps better, the "boy that chooses to play with matches" ) has gotten away with so called progress for too long. We simply don't need anything nuclear fellas !

Even Nuclear Fusion technologies have been corrupted over the years, with calorific values "doctored" to read negative, when in fact they were positive in both hot & cold fusion testing results in the late 1980's...And people have been murdered for saying so. See interview below.

How can we have free markets & free society, when "Zero point energy" or "Quantam vacuum energy" exists, but its use & patents has been sequestereed for National Security reasons for decades ? No pollution involved here, & no moving parts.

For the space that exists in an empty cup of coffee, it is thought that 10^26 Kj's of energy exists, & is freely available. That's 10-kilojoules, with 26 zero's after it, in an empty cup of coffee. And we have this technology, but it's been black-shelved.

Listen to this interview.

NB. Also worth noting here, is that as space-travellers, the ET's won't let us go out too far with anything nuclear used...We share the universe with other people, & they see us as a threat, simply because of the way we treat each other.

Yes but don't they have to spit a lot of Atoms to get the fire going so to speak? And what about the materials and liquids used to keep the enclosures cool?

Remember, you can't make an omlet without breaking some eggs!

On an un-related note, I did see the movie "No courty for old men" recently on HBO Max... It was a good movie! Thanks to PowerStroker's photo and Shawnee pointing out what movie it was from I got to see a cool movie I might not have otherwise ever taken the time to watch.

I haven't seen it in a while but it's an interesting movie for sure. It did a really nice job recreating the early 80's time period with all of the vintage cars and stuff.

Yo,

Getting back to the threads title, here's a reason why they should be concerned about global warming...Talk about hot, & it made the news here in Oz !
