South Korean network apologizes for inappropriate images on Tokyo Olympics

A South Korean broadcaster has apologized for using "inappropriate" images and captions to depict some countries competing in the Tokyo Olympics including using a photo of Chernobyl for Ukraine and pizza for Italy.

The network flashed a picture of Dracula for Romania, pizza for Italy and salmon for Norway.

It referred to the US Marshall Islands, meanwhile, as "once a nuclear test site for the United States."

The disastrous depictions left the news outlet red-faced.

Athletes from other nations were depicted with more benign and sometimes bizarre images and information.For instance, Great Britains entrance into the arena included an image of Queen Elizabeth II, while El Salvador, where cryptocurrency is the legal tender, was depicted with a bitcoin symbol, the newspaper said.

Respectfully...

NO GOVERNMENT, SHOULD BE ALLOWING ANY OF THEIR CITIZENS, TO BE TRAVELING INTO A COUNTRY THAT HAS AT LEAST 6-BLOWN-UP NUCLEAR REACTORS SPREADING NUCLEAR SHYTE ALL OVER THE GLOBE.

Japan is by US-of-A Safety regulations a toxic radioactive waste-dump.

These people should be sent to jail for crimes against humanity !!!!!!

And the innocent people that decide to go there, are pretty stupid, & should-have done their homework first.

Already some squabbling about how the Olympics are judged... Apparently the standard that has been used is the country with the most total metals wins, however since China is not winning the most amount of metals they just want to go with whoever won the most GOLD medals. I am not really sure how it has worked in the past, maybe other people could chime in?

Not sure, & I could care less.

The Olympics used to be something positive for everyone, where countries could interact with each other in fair competition, & without the usual war associated with national interaction.

In any case, the games should not have been held in Japan...You may-as-well have had them at Hanford...

Congratulations to the USA Summer Olympics Team!

Of course, China as usual was trying to cheat... they are such a miserable lot of losers, trying to take Hong Kong and Tiawan's medals, even though they compete under different flags.

Just goes to show how cheaters never win and winners never cheat!
