Perhaps the problem with oversease airline crashes is due to their own neglect?

The last fatal US airline crash was a decade ago. Heres why our skies are safer

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/02/13/colgan-air-crash-10-years-ago-reshaped-us-aviation-safety.html

Seems to me a lot of the problems with planes going down is outside of the USA... A lot of these other airlines in other countries are either skimping on their maintaince, or perhaps employing inexperienced piolts....

Tell me you haven't questioned why all these passenger planes have gone down in other countries, but not here in the USA?

I say this knowing full well I'd have no worries getting on a plane to California at any time... Boeing or Airbus because I know the USA cares more about life than trying to make a carrier look at fault.

That said...

I don't know about their maintenance, some may be pretty shoddy but a few countries are pretty sharp and competent. Guess we don't hear about them. Personally I suspect many go down from "agendas", political agendas, maybe some vendettas. "Hits" are not always done with a silenced 22. Yes some may be legit.

I worked F106 fighter interceptors in the AF (weapons control, MA1. Maintenance was 100% and very strict. Lacing string for wire harnesses, don't get caught with a ty wrap, all screws safety wired, ALL of them. If the fighter even had a scratch on the paint, it was "red exed" (no fly) until properly fixed.

Seems to be a lot of commercial airliners falling out of the sky in Asia lately... and I have no doubts that a high value target was probably to blame for a few of them...

But when it comes to airplanes I'm with the 100% very strict maintenance schedules.

Looks like that plane in China literally fell out of the sky! Flat out nose-dive!

AF was very strict. I flew Cessnas and you colldn't even change your own oil or even add oil, A&P did it. They are very good. I parachuted too, licensed rigger only can pack your reserve. You need to pop the reserve you owe the rigger a bottle, that night. Happened to my buddy when I was there. Cool.

I had no idea A&P worked on aircraft!

I don't know if I could bring myself to jump out of a perfectly good airplane, although a buddy of mine swears by it... Just the thought of a stuck chute is enough reason for me to stick with land sports. lol

Yup, those are the guys, only ones can work on an airplane. Well trained, conscientious. I hang out a airport by me now. 2 A&P's there, I watch. It gets done right.

Parachuting has changed from a dangerous sport to not, no prob with life insurance now. New equipment is nice too. I jumped an old WW2 style parachute. Too cool, indiscernible floating slowly, alone, quiet, where your not supposed to be.

No chute comes out? = pull your reserve.

Bad chute = pull 2 buckles on your harness and release it, then pop reserve.

Good chute = enjoy the ride.

Somehow I feel like this would be my first time parachuting...

So eh, who packed my chute?

After I delivered my bottle to the guy who packed my reserve, I'd be delivering an ass kicking to the guy who packed my faulty primary!

Iffn you didn't pack it a licensed rigger did, they do all the rental chutes. Look like, well they are WW2 and mil style chutes, mushrooms. Hitting the ground is equal to a 16' jump. The "cell chutes are awesome, can do about 30 knots where mil style do 7 knots. Most fun you can have with your clothes on.

I don't think you read the article Rastus... It says clearly that the flaps were forced into a "dive" position! Just look at the video above!

Then there is the simple fact that the recent spate of plane crashes involving Boeing Commercial Passenger planes have only occurred recently in Asian nations, where as Asia (China) has just relesed a knock off of their own Commercial Airliner that just happens to have more than half of it components made by USA companies!

I can read between the lines, if you can't... then by all means, be sure to book your next flight on a Chinese made airliner!

I can see your POV, but for myself, when the headline reads "...caused by intentional act '', they have to deliver the proof. IMO, they're suggesting that the pilot had personal issues, & decided to check-everyone-out along with himself...

It remains speculative at best lol !
