The Constitution specifically bans poll taxes of any kind. Unless we are giving out free ID's to everyone, and even coming to people who are disabled to provide them free ID's on site, it would constitute a poll tax and therefore be unconstitutional.
READ MY LIPS POWERSTROKER -- proving you're a citizen and having ID is not a TAX! It's a responsibility!

Sad times when PowerStroker is sticking up for Mitch! I think we need to know who on the Senate is going to break ranks on this issue so we can vote them out in the next mid-terms!
The Save Act is common sense policy! People like Bernie Sanders and Gavin Newscum saying they can't find their birth certificates? I'm calling BULLSH!T!
I recently had to produce my birth certificate AND Social Security card to obtain a "real ID" -- as if the one I had for the last 34 years wasn't "real" enough to pass TSA muster for in country air travel!
I HAVE ZERO COMPASSION AT THIS POINT FOR PEOPLE NOT WILLING TO OBTAIN THEIR DOCUMENTS! I had to jump through all kinds of hoops to get my documents in order to obtain my Real ID!
If people can't be an adult and obtain their vital records -- they have no business voting! Furthermore, if they don't have documents to prove citizenship -- they shouldn't be voting! Period!

Putting tampons and litter boxes in the bathrooms was the last straw for me... but by that time my kids only had a few years left in public school so we suffered through it.

Look, before we get too far off the path -- I just want to say that it's a REALLY BAD IDEA for Democrats to be defunding homeland security while we have a major war going on in the Middle East!
What is wrong with your party, PowerStroker?

ICE still has a several billion dollar slush fund they got as part of the Big Beautiful Bill. I'd use that money to fund the rest of Homeland. Once that runs out, then perhaps Trump can come to Congress and explain himself and ask for more money.
