And yet another grifter in with walls is Omar -- who at the time has this going
AI Overview
Rep.
Ilhan Omar set up programs, including the MEALS Act (Modifying Essential Access to Lunch for Students Act) during the COVID-19 pandemic, which were intended to provide child nutrition but were later exploited in a massive fraud scheme.
Key details regarding the programs and associated issues:
MEALS Act: This legislation, championed by Rep. Omar, waived certain rules, regulations, and safeguards for the distribution of school meals to quickly provide aid during the pandemic.
Fraud Allegations: The lack of oversight created by the waivers allegedly enabled what is considered the largest pandemic relief fraud scheme in the United States, totaling at least $250 million (some reports indicate up to $1 billion).
Individuals Charged: At least 78 individuals have been charged in connection with the scheme, including a former campaign staffer and associates of a restaurant where Omar held a victory party.
Omar's Response: When questioned about the fraud, Omar stated that the programs were set up quickly and "a lot of the guardrails did not get created," leading to reliance on third parties.
Investigations: A sweeping federal investigation has been launched into the fraud, and the House Oversight Committee has opened its own investigation into the handling of the funds.
Beyond the MEALS Act, Omar has introduced or co-sponsored many other pieces of legislation related to housing, healthcare, immigration, and climate change, such as the Homes for All Act and the Medicare for All Act, though few have become law.
Key points regarding the situation:
The Fraud Scheme: Dozens of individuals in Minnesota, most of Somali descent, have been charged and many convicted for stealing federal funds meant to feed children during the COVID-19 pandemic. The primary non-profit at the center of the $250 million scheme was called "Feeding Our Future".
Ties to Omar:
Individuals charged in the scheme made donations to Rep. Omar's campaign, which she says have since been returned.
One convicted individual, Salim Said, worked on her 2018 and 2020 campaigns.
Omar's office reportedly backed the program and its staff allegedly dismissed concerns as bureaucratic overreach. Omar has stated the fraud also impacts the Somali community, who are taxpayers and potential beneficiaries of the program.
Oversight Under Walz:
The fraud grew significantly due to federal rule waivers during the pandemic and a lack of state oversight, with critics accusing the Walz administration of ignoring red flags.
Whistleblowers claimed that staff who raised internal concerns were ignored or retaliated against by the state's Department of Human Services.
Gov. Walz has denied intentionally turning a blind eye and stated that anyone who commits fraud will go to prison, regardless of background. He has also created a task force to pursue fraud cases and improve state processes.
Investigations: The U.S. House Oversight Committee has launched an investigation into the matter and Gov. Walz's administration's role in the oversight failures.

I guess it's true what they say... you can't fix stupid.
Thankfully I doubt he will be running again, on account of the near $2 billion dollar scam the retard was either in on, or too retarded to see what was going on.
Ummm... this has been going on for over two years!
At some point you're just going to have to wake up from that woke mentality, PowerStroker!
Initial estimates put the total over $2B (Billion) and if you divide by the 80,000 Somalis living there it equals a haul of about $25,000 each for every Man, Woman and Child!

I believe there were white people involved too, and lots of Somali-American's who weren't. If you're trying to spin this as another one of your brown people conspiracies it just won't work.
The fraudsters should be prosecuted, and they are. I'm just glad I live in a state that tries to keep people fed, even if there are some abuses along the way.

White people like who? Tim Walz? America dodged a bullet by keeping that loon out of the White House!
And with regards to your race baiting comment -- nobody is listening to that BS anymore! Obama maxed out bankrupted the race card! I seen him in South Chicago at a predominantly black school singing and dancing... it would be nice if he could care enough to visit downtrodden white schools in the city too -- but he is the biggest racist of them all!

I keep trying to tell you it's not Kosher to marry your brother! Ask you Mom what she thinks about people marrying their own brothers or sisters! While you're at it, ask her thoughts on child sex change operations and genital mutilations.
I'm curious which one of your parents you got this mentality from.

Where in that marriage license does it say that they are siblings?
Both of my parents are/were conservatives. In my mom's case it's religious based, and she has started using her Christianity to justify bigotry... Especially now that she is retired and has nothing to do but spend her day thinking about gays. Which is strange since there is no record of Jesus ever speaking on the issue. In my late father's case, it was economics, he didn't like paying taxes, though I've never once heard him say anything bigoted.
For me, I believe in the evidence based scientific reasons why siblings should not marry, and I believe Congresswoman Omar when she says she didn't marry a sibling.
One thing my mother and I both agree on is that female genital mutilation is horrific and rightly illegal in this country.
We also agree that child sex change operations shouldn't happen, and as far as I know, they aren't happening. There are pharmaceutical puberty blockers available for trans gender children, and such medical decisions are made by parents before the age of 18 unless a court intervenes.
