SCOTUS ruled today that tariffs were not on the level... and we got the Chicago mayor (fatso) already clamoring for reparation checks...

But who should pay? If you ask me it should be any company that successfully gets a refund, since they have already baked their increased cost into the items they sold!

Giving a company a tariff refund would be like paying them TWICE!

If you ask me, tariffs were needed in a majority of the cases where they were applied... especially with regards to China! 

Still, it's shocking to see how many conservative Justices sided with liberals!

The question with regards to "refunds" becomes this -- either tariffs raised cost or they didn't! Neither side can have it both ways!

Actually the funds went into the US Treasury, and American consumers paid higher prices to pad the Treasury balance. It's essentially a backdoor sales tax. It will be up to Congress to decide whether or not to refund the American people for their overpayments from Treasury funds.

I was more or less teasing with regards to the USA Hockey player... It's a rough sport!

However, I'm not joking when it comes to Canada being hostile -- take for instance the current embargo we have on Cuba! It's a hostile action for them to go against us in giving them aid!

Canada is a sovereign nation to the extent that they become a national security risk to their larger, more powerful neighbors. Should they choose to align with countries hostile to the USA, then they open themselves up to serious repercussions.

There is an embargo on Cuba for buying oil from Venezuela... you are aware the US captured Maduro recently in a covert military operation? You did not bother to reply to that thread so I assume you're clueless when it comes to South American issues.

I am aware, I just don't understand why we would embargo cuba for buying oil from Venezuela. Or try to blockade oil from other countries from getting to Cuba. Lots of countries buy oil from Venezuela. Russia is a much bigger asshole country than Venezuela ever thought of being, and lots of countries buy oil from Russia too. Should we be setting up naval blockades around their countries too?

Apparently Trump signed an executive order to block oil going to Cuba based on a national emergency of some kind. For the life of me I can't figure out what that emergency is, can you help me understand?

How is Trump's desire to reimplement the Monroe Doctrine on Cuba a national emergency?

Pharmaceutical puberty blockers and hormone treatments are not sex change operations. I'm not aware of any current elected officials in my state that are pedophiles, promoted sex changes on children, or were involved in the missing 9 billion either. In fact, they are investigating and prosecuting the people involved in the fraud.
